3 reviews of Accrington and District Golf Club
Wow what a challenge. A little of advice wishing to take this course on, make sure you have a hot putter!. Right from making the booking until our departure the Club could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. From the club officials to the members we were made most welcome and felt part of the club even though it was for only one day. As for the course itself, it was in superb condition, and in terms of playing from tee to green it suits a party with a varied mixed of playing standards. But then you step on the green and unless you have a feel for the greens you could end up leaving the green after four putting. This is no criticism of the greens standards but it Accrington & District make the old adage true "drive for show, putt for dough". Please give this course a go you won't be disappointed.
have played this course a few times and is everything you would expect a golf course to be,fairways and greens always in excellent condition and well looked after.have played this course in winter and summer and enjoyable whenever you play.staff also welcoming too, which can be rare at private clubs.
Accrington is proper golf....played on a course that is entirely un-manufactured, using the natural features of the terrain to full effect. The course was in A1 condition (May 2004) beautiful fairways (so I believe) and perfect fast greens. Not to mention some great panoramic views. Everything about the club is first class, from the warm personal welcome to the pint afterwards, nothing was too much trouble, making Accrington an ideal venue for a Society or any visitor. With a sensible green fee it is too good to miss and you are assured of a friendly welcome in these parts.....try it for yourself and see.
