Played here on the hottest day of the year (so far) a group of 14 guys using the County card at a cost of £20.00 (weekday) with a range of handicaps from 6 to 20. Everyone really enjoyed it, a well maintained tight parkland course, with excellent greens; some of the tee boxes were rather cut up, no doubt due to the long dry spell we have had. This was a course that you had to plot your way round, and the low handicappers frequently resorted to 3 woods off the tee. Didn’t see many members, but those we did come across seemed friendly, the kitchen was still prepared to supply food when we came in at late afternoon, prices were a little steep, but this would come under London prices. Very easy to find, ½ mile off M1 at junction 5, well worth a visit, we will return in due course.

A mildly challanging but forgiving parkland course. Recomended for high handicappers such as myself taking the step up from 9 hole pitch and putts with a good mix of long but confidence building Par 3's to the awsome but still playable 616 yard Par 5. Played on a Sunday with a green fee of £40.00 but the fairways where in very good condition as where the greens but the one draw back is that non of the holes are numbered so think lateraly. Seporate visitor changing rooms with excelent facilities and a spike bar that welcomes visitors too. Footnote the 9 hole white course is well worth a try and infact is more treacherous!

Aldenham Golf Club is a pretty parkland course that both the novice and professional golfer will enjoy. The fairways are varied, the greens are always in play and there are many hidden traps such as ditches, ponds and brooks that are very much in play. A course guide is essential if you wish to avoid these, as the majority are not visable off the tee. The course itself is enjoyable to play and the par 5 616yard 13th is a challenge for even the most capable players. The clubhouse is also well equipped when it comes to facilities and there is also a 9-hole course which can be played if your not quite ready to play the 18. The club welcomes visitors, although the strict dresscode is enforced all year round. A great course to play, one of the best in Hertfordshire.

Great day, good course, but if you plan to catch a round before the summer ends be aware that their dress code requires white socks (only) with shorts when on the course.

Private club that allows public to play. Good mix of easy and tough holes. The 13th 616 yrd par 5 is a great hole !! Course is kept in good condition and pace of play is normally good. The atmosphere can be a bit stuffy !! The club is very hot on dress code so make sure you wear your Sunday best !!
