A group of us play this course once a year, and each year one can see subtle improvements. It’s an ideal society course, easy walking; space to recover from wayward shots, but tricky par threes, and long par 4’s. The course furniture is excellent, check out the marble tee blocks! The management take the trouble to explain the course signage, and offer food ordering service if you come in after the kitchen closes. The bar and changing facilities are basic but quite adequate Many members clubs could learn a lot from the way this course is set up and run, well worth a visit, particularly in the summer months.

I played it yesterday and the improvement in 12 months, since I last played there, is incredible. It seemed to lack funding and care a year ago. Now the pro shop has good and varied stock and the course is in superb condition, with little touches that make the round a better game. There is an area on the back nine where several holes intersect a small river, the view as you look there now is a pleasure, if daunting to all shorter hitters:) I really would recomend this course to any level of player. The front 9 are flatter and the gentle breeze made it interesting. On the back nine the wind had picked up and made it a real challenge. (Echoing the comment earlier about club selection changing dramatically. ) I'm a mid-high handicapper who has played a lot of the local courses and this is amongst the best, and better for the last years work by management and staff. I did not stop to enjoy the hospitality but the club house is pretty and looks comfortable.)

I have played this course many times and have to say it is one of the easier courses in the area. Most of the fairways are pretty wide and the rough is very light. The greens are quite slow but fairly true. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Using 2 for 1 vouchers with a mid week green fee of only £19 (or £9.50 each) was just about the best value golf around.

course is in excellent condition for time of year , and you couldn't get a friendlier pro shop , they can't do enough for you excellent passport scheme where you play 3 rounds and you then get the 4th free ( why don't all clubs do this more people would return then !!!) one problem is that some of the members need to brush up on their golf etiquet as we played behind a 3 ball of lady members today, we were a 2 ball , and got held up on 6 holes in the first 9 due to the fact that they wouldn't let us play through ,ended up only doing 9 holes for this reason and the main page says £12 for midweek play and we got charged £19 so a little bit of difference there !!! apart from this well worth a visit

This really is a little hidden gem. I played the course yesterday and was extremely impressed with everything about the place. Firstly, what a pleasant change to be welcomed as a visitor, and made to feel at home straight away. Cost was £30, but was able to use a 2-4-1 voucher so £15 per head. The course itself was in superb condition, with wide open fairways in great shape. The greens, whilst perhaps slightly slow, were in immaculate condition too - the best I've played on for a long while. The course is probably better suited to the mid to high handicapper, but I would recommend anybody to get down to Aylesbury Vale and give it a go. One point to note, is that they do not take advanced bookings, it simply is a case of turn up, pay and play. It is worth calling in advance and they will notify you of any competitions etc.

I have just played this course for the second time after a gap of ten years and what a differance. The staff and members were friendly and the pace of play fast for a Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed the layout and especially the back nine holes a mixture of open and short tight holes. All the par fives are there to be attacked in two depending on the wind but more respect must be shown for the tighter holes and long par fours. The greens putted well my only complaint was they were crowned around the holes after a lot of use. This course is well worth the green fee even though I am a member of another club and it will not be ten years till I visit it again.

without doubt the friendliest course i have played... good test of golf, but not too hard for the beginners.. could not ask for a better price either

I think I had a complete mental seizure during writing my last report when I suggested Aylesbury Vale was over 7,000 yards. I don't know what came over me as it is infact 6,622 yards. Sorry if I confused anyone by this...It was a genuine typing error.

Aylesbury vale has to be one of the best all-round pay and play courses in Bucks and the surrounding counties. Green fees are the best I have ever come across. You can often get two rounds of golf for the same price as one round at one of the other surrounding courses. Staffs are exceptionally friendly and helpful and the bar is pleasant. As far as the course is concerned, it is still very young (only opened in the early 90's), and despite the odd backdrop of mature woodland that pre-dates the course, you get the feeling of emptiness as you do on any new course. Water does come into play on about four holes but the only serious threat posed by it is the one or two occasions where it carves it's way across the fairway but this is all avoidable if you lay up short, or, if you are a longer hitter, take a shot at the green. As far as length is concerned, this course lacks none, coming in at well over 7,000yds; this is not a good course for men who cannot drive reasonable distances (for women it is no problem as the tees are many more yards forward). Without doubt the most striking feature is the fantastic undulation of this course. A word of warning, try to avoid morning play, as nearly everyday there are tournaments and competitions on. Pay and play players: enjoy this course while you can! Once 500 full members are gained there will be quite strict pay and play limitations! Membership offers are particularly attractive at the moment as there is no joining fee and prices are low. Aylesbury vale- Fantastic!

The welcome was friendly, but I must admit to having been quite disappointed with the condition of the the course (greens excepted, they were good to excellent) The grass on the tee boxes was much too long and hadn't been cut for ages. The fairways lacked definition, and there was much too much clover growing on them. I am not too sure about some of the yardages as I seemed to reach a couple of the longer par 5s rather easier than I should have. Having said all that, I think it is good value and well worth a visit.

I have played this course since it first opened and have found the staff and members of the club to be most helpful and friendly. The course although somewhat flat and park like in its layout is most challenging due to the wind that seems to blow even on the calmest of days. Club selection can range from nine iron to driver on some the par thee holes depending on the day. A great course and great staff to. I look forward to playing this course again on my next visit to the United Kingdom.

Without a doubt the friendliest and most helpfull welcome i have recieved. I have played a few times and enjoyed it every time, scoring my lowest round ever helped. Always well kept and a pleasure to play. Watch out for the water running across about 4 holes.
