Played on a glorious summer's evening with no midges. Virtually had the course to myself and I Met the owner. The scenery and the layout(evidently a Donald Steel) is excellent with Par 3 seventh one of the best I have played. My only gripe is the condition of the greens which the steward failed to mention when i signed in. They have been top dressed and holotyned, not what you would expect for mid June, should be rectified with some good growth. Otherwise this is a must for those who take there golf seriously and one i will play again and recommend to my friends. Oh the rough is seriously tough.

I really enjoyed playing this course. It is essentially a nine hole course with 18 tee boxes so it plays like a true 18 hole course. You are greeted by lovely diamond mown fairways that invite a well struck ball. The huge greens were a tad slow but rewarded a well struck putt. The scenery is breathtaking. You will find yourself fumbling in the golf bag for the camera on more than one occasion. This course will suit longer hitters more than the shorter. I believe it can be enjoyed by any standard of player. There are a few additional points I should make. The steward wasn't there when I played so the honesty box came into operation. Make sure you're armed with the correct change; 9-holes = £15, 18-holes = £20. This is a hilly course so make sure you are prepared with a few Mars Bars and a drink. Finally the last few holes run close to the river avon. Make sure you have some anti-midge cream to hand as they do find golfers quite tasty (as I found to my annoyance!) I will certainly make a visit to this golf course on my next trip to Scotland.

A STUNNING LOCATION AND A GREAT COURSE. WE FOUND THE FEES VERY REASONABLE AND THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY. THE GREENS AND FAIRWAYS WERE IN IMMACULATE CONDITION WHEN WE PLAYED. THE COURSE WAS QUITE QUIET SO WE DID NOT FEEL RUSHED AS YOU OFTEN DO ON SOME COURSES.
