Course is pretty poor.Tees are ok,fairways are cut poorly and your ball never finds a nice lie.Greens are ok,could be better, but to many pitchmarks left. Only good if you cant get on anywhere else.

How this course has got 4 stars I do not know, must be members and/or staff adding reviews on here! I have played it numerous times over the years and it never fails to disappoint. The main problems are that it is always utterly over crowded with golfers, do not expect to get a round of less than 4 hours here. We have been know to walk off several times because of the appaling slow play, it never changes and I really don't know how the members put up with it. Also the greens and fairways have always been pretty poor, although I have heard that the staff are making improvements. If you want a fairly cheap but uninspiring and very slow round of golf then go for it, I won't be playing here again any time soon though....

If you do one thing right here make sure its this, consistency. Easy said, though as none of the holes, excluding the par 5's are longer than 407 yards, with most in the mid 350 yards then birdies are available, thought hit bad shots and the scores will mount up as there are no easy chances. Each hole has something different which gives the course variety. No real scenery to view as the landscape/ground is flat, and with a main road passing the 13th, not the most ideallic either. Nonetheless it is an enjoyable challenge without a feature hole. Played all courses I review a few times, would say this course plays best in the summer because despite the greens being less receptive you do need consistent length off the tee which the hard ground assists with.

This is a fantastic course in relation to what you pay for a round - what you get for your money! Beedles is in the heart of the Wreake valley - a beauty spot of some magnitude. Holes are well thought out - not easy for mid to high handicap players. The par five 6th is 529 yards long off the yellow tees - not easy to reach the green in three shots when the wind is against. The lake itself is a gem. It does not really come into play, but adds a somewhat idyllic scene as you playholes 10 and 11. This is Beedles advantage over a lot of other courses. There is lots of water - the feng shui of this aspect turns it into a spiritual paradise. When you play beedles it is calm, serene, not many people. Try playing some of the more centralised Leicestershire municipals -and compare! You do not get dog walkers and idiots on mobile phones suddenly appearing out of the bushes at Beedles lake. What you do get is value for money - and a splendid round of golf. Clubhouse facilities are great - staff and pro shop very obliging. One last look at the lake before you go - it's worth it!

Played this course today in windy and testing wet conditions. Beedles lake is a nice course set in the heart of the Wreake valley, the holes can be quite testing for the high handicappers. Some holes tend to play long into the prevailing winds, so you need to hit your woods fairly long and straight to be able to negotiate an iron into the green. The par five 6th hole is a long testing right handed dog leg...not easy to reach in three when the wind is against. The staff at Beedles lake are friendly, club house facilities are excellent.

You will not be dissapointed at the condition of greens or fairway on this coarse, they must be without doubt the best in Leicestershire the green staff do a wonderfull job here..the coarse it self is young so a little open at the minute, This is also the place to play all year golf as in winter it is as immaculate as summertime trust me you will not be dissapointed...

I am from out of town so this course was recommended to us and didnt disapoint, we played this course on a nice spring day and I must say the condition was fantastic. My friend and I really enjoyed this well laid out course, around the turn the 8,9,10 and 11th are well laid out and provide a real test as does the water that periodically turns up on holes. The staff where friendly and the club house is nice situated next to the lake...thanks for an enjoyable round I will return again.

I think Beedles Lake was an extremely difficult course, with excellent tees and greens. The staff are very welcoming and you are guaranteed an excellent day whatever the weather. The back nine is excellent with many challenging holes and a fantastic finishing hole. The first few holes are fairly average but trust me, the more holes you play, the better the course gets! A definite must play for any golfer!

Beedles Lake golf course is extremly difficult on certain holes, The hardest hole being the 529 yard par 5 6th hole. which has a tight fairway and is nearky always into the wind. It is a young course that will improve nond in years to come. So hackers beware.....u khow who you are.

Absoulutely smashing course. Tees and greens( probebly the best in the uk ) are in geat condition all year round. While this course may play eay for straight hitters. Bendy tee shots will nearly always put you in a hazard. The course is young and as it gets older it will adapt and be unpleyable for hackers so everyone watch out you khow who you are!!!!!!!!!!

This course naggs you all the way round, if you start slipping then it will murder you!!!!!! the bunkers are like magnets and youre ball is a paper clip. there are rivers everywhere, in fact the river wreake is present at just about every single hole. oh, and when the wind gets up, forget it, youre gonna be in trouble after every shot! id say a course for 15 handicappers and below. i play off 19.

Played here last Saturday for the first time. A course with a split personality?? Front 9, immature, very flat, ideal for the mid-high handicapped. Back 9, what a contrast, plenty of trees, water hazards etc. It's ideal for myself, i prefer a course like this - starts easy-ish and gets progressively challenging. I reckon it's a bit of a hidden gem!! Staff and facilities are above average for this type of establishment.

I play this course regularly. A young course, but definitely one that will get harder as it matures. A long course for the mid-high handicapper. The hardest holes being 2,4,6,7,11,15,16,18. Fairly open on most holes, but a pinpoint teeshot required on the par 4 11th. Great greens!

8/7/2000 The curse of beedles, iam beaten before i start. The general condition of this course is always good, but you have work for everything on this course. I compare it to a links course at times. If your having a off day it will destroy you. I shot a 48 on the front 9 followed by a 49 on the back 9. In between heavy showers i shot a 97 which i was quite pleased with.

A challenging course, which is in good condition for the price. Some difficult long holes, the drive on the eighteenth over the trees is particularly tough when your tiring!
