Played on a twilight ticket of £22 at 4pm on a Saturday very good value for money. Heavy rain for the first half a dozen holes but the wind blew all the way round. Purchased a course guide from the pro shop which was proved vital as the nearest group infront of us was at least three holes ahead so we wouldnt have had much idea where to aim especially with the third and fifth greens quite close together. the course itself was a good test of what i call semi links golf. wouldnt call it a true links course as although there were a few dunes on the course around the greens the pitch shots on the whole were easier than some courses ive played on in the southport area. some long par fours which if played against the wind would be real monsters. we were quite lucky that the majority of the wind against holes today tended to be the shorter par fours. Some really good holes including a wonderful par 3 (12th) and a great finishing hole up a steep hill which could seriously dent anyones card if not played carefully. the greens were in very good condition enjoyed the day (played well considering the wind and rain) Could easily have had a nightmare. Have played nearby Herons reach 4 times but based on today the next time i come to Blackpool will play North shore again as opposed to the de vere course didnt sample the club house co cant comment on that side of the club but the pro shop was well stocked and the practice facilities were pretty good

Had a great time in the gusting wind on 30th December 2009. On arrival, myself and a buddy checked into the warm and well stocked pro shop. Told that temp greens were in play and therefore only £15 per person. Bargain! Upstairs into the labrynthine clubhouse and enjoyed a decent bacon sarnie and cup of tea, admiring photos of Jack Niclaus and Arnold Palmer enjoying the course we were about to take on. I would use words like tricky, compact, undulating and exposed to describe this challenging links course. The wind made club selection difficult and the golf was pretty creative at times. Par 3's were excellent and hard to gauge, par 5's offering good scoring. All in all, an excellent trip to the coast, would recommend it to anyone, especially when the normal greens are in play as they looked wonderful.

Surpising little club hidden in the middle of some houses in North Blackpool. Small acreage but no particularly dangerous holes. Hilly but still a true links course, some holes have big elevation changes which add to the fun of club selection. Greens and tees were excellent (22/7/08) but it isn't the tidiest presented course elsewhere, though reasonable value. Good views from the clubhouse. Some building work going on for the next couple of months around the clubhouse but no problem.

The weather had been very poor but not only did we play we were able to use buggies which was very important to our group. Quite an very open course you need to put your ball in the right place for your shot to the green our you will be playing over bunkers,I think this would be a different course in the summer, but we were made welcome, and due to the weather this course looked after us great

At first glance the course looks bland and feature less, but once starting you realise if you miss the fairway it wll be difficult to find the green in regulation, the greens were in superb condition and rewarded good putts. The down side of our society visit was the catering, for the price we paid for our 2 course meal it was basic to say the least.

played this course last week in very high winds and got caught in a massive hailstorm but still, course was in very good condition, greens were impressive, a few 2many blind tee shots for my liking but still a good course, no water either or many hazards either, u wont remember many holes from this course

This is a superb links course with good views of the surrounding area from a number of tees. This vitually treeless course is ideal for a society and other visitors. On my visit (8/06) the greens were quick and true with the rest of the course in excellent condition. As far as I am concerned the feature holes are the short 12th with its elevated tee and the 18th with two enormous 'craters' in front of the green. A most enjoyable course.

Just played this couse for the first time ! the only word you really need to describe it is WOW ! Right fom walking in to the pro shop to driving out of the car park staff and members were really friendly and helpful . The course is my first "links" golf i have played but it not going to be the last ! Standing on the first tee you have a marvelous view of whats ahead of you . No trees !! but the rough is enough to make it testing and then you have the breeze which soon became a very strong wind during the back nine. I would imagine that during the winter months of high winds this course could become a monster . If you are in the Blackpool area this course is outstanding value for money .All the holes are different with lots of blind tee shots a course planner is advisable( Or better still speak to some of the menbers on the course . They put us right on several occaisions on where the next tees where as we wandered looking lost !! It upset me only to play this once .

I played here in a wind that was bending the flagsticks double but this didn't mar my enjoyment of a super course. Standing on the first tee it looks benign enough with few trees, but the first time you enter the rough you realise the need to stay on the short stuff is paramount. I will always remember hitting a driver into the teeth of a gale and just managing to find the green of a shortish par three! Excellent food in the friendly clubhouse.

A Challenge especially when the wind blows. A friendly club atmosphere with excellent facilities and staff. An Open Championship qualifying venue played by Nicklaus, Palmer , Player and Thomson.Food excellent especially a local delicacy . the TALBOT TOWER BURGER. Keep to fairways and stay out of the salad. Enjoy views of Lake District and play safe down the Eigth.. .
