Played the course on Friday and greens were far and away the best part of the day, all 18 were in superb condition. Unfortunately there were a few bad points. Buggies were booked in advance and when we got to the shop, the club pro decided to make up some story that they were not charged the night before and so we had to walk round. whilst we were on the course, members decided it was more important to concentrate on whether we were taking our trolleys too 'close' to the green rather than bother themselves to tee off. Overall the course is good but members and pro think, whilst being a bit pompous, think it's a championship course, when it's not.
Brilliant course, in excellent condition. Greens are tremendous for the time of year.
Very nice, long course (wind made it harder). Alot of water hazards but accurate hitters should not be troubled. Nicely landscaped holes and tees, take advantage of the rocks behind the greens, I saw members hammering drivers off the fairway straight into them and bouncing them back onto the green! Overall a very good day. Bar staff (Julie) was excellent and the facilites were also faultless.
We played this course last week and although we really enjoyed the golfing challenge that the course presented we did have a few gripes with the following two aspects:- 1/ Temporary greens (that we were told were completely off incidently), now i appreciate that the course requires maintaining to keep it's high standards but making them bigger than a car tyre and actually cutting them is a good idea. No matter how good you are, pitching a ball onto them was impossible. 2/ The forty of the queens finest we had to part with for the pleasure, despite the fact 5 of the green's were temporary and in our opinion unplayable on. A member nearly even spat his drink out when the clubhouse announced these fee's laughing. I suspect that this is an isolated incident and will be playing here again, the course is i believe one of the better ones and should be A1 in summer. Also in it's defense, if you were trying to get your groove on with a young lady then the four winds resturant is a great setting. I know i've been there and it worked. Food was'nt bad either.
Played the course yesterday as part of the Mayor of Knowsley charity event. The course was in good condition and remains a challenge to any standard of golfer. The hilly setting keeps the golf interesting and you fit, especially if your carrying. The greens are great. Fast and contoured. To give you an idea, have a look at the practice putting area before going out! Highly recommended.
Played this course twice this year. Fabulous course running along side the M62. In great condition when we played (July and Aug). Well planned with some great holes. especially par 3 12th. Will be back next year. Good friendly clubhouse
Played 18/08/00.... Excellent facilities and a course which is a little gem... Greens, Bunkers, Fairway all in good knick.... Some outstanding holes... very picturesque... Only quibble... it rained heavily and Greens held water for a while after..... Finishing hole a real beauty... Don't miss out on the practice putting green... holing on that takes some doing... and really sets you out for the round.... A PLEASURE
Superb course with excellent clubhouse. It was a pleasure to play it. Condition was excellent. A very good young course.
