Played today, was due to play the course last week but it was covered in snow, there was still some evidence and its obvious to see that the course has suffered a hard winter. That being said it's a very forgiving course and I imagine as the summer sets in it will be a more attractive course, two sets of tees for gents yellows (par70) and Blue's (72) I purchased a day ticket for £30 and came into the club house after 18 holes to sample their fare.. The all day breakfast at £4.50 was very nice and set me up for the afternoon round. There are a couple of greens that have had extensive repairs/drainage carried out on them and they look alot worse than they actually are. Overall a nice golf club - will certainly come back later in the year to play it again.
Quality golf course! enjoyed my round here last week. The weather was lovely and the course was very impressive. Old Links was tough, but really tested my golf, even the 'easier' holes still made you think about your club selection! Would certainly play there again!
A very warm welcome received and a very pleasant day all round. Great course fast greens stunning views. My wife played here last year in a team match and has been talking about it ever since, so I had to try it. My group of friends were also very impressed. Don't usually write reviews but wanted to share - hidden gem.
played with a member for £20 today (friday) if you play with a member monday-thursday its only £10 weather not great but the rain kept away (the wind was calm-was told if the wind blows its a REALLY tough test . as previously mentioned a fairly routine start even though the first at 280 yards was all uphill. quite a challenging and hilly course with a number of holes up hill which didnt make them any easier. the par threes were a good test and the course finished with a 500 yard par 5 dog leg. virtually all the holes were interesting and it was a good test of golf. the pro shop was well stocked and the bar served very good food including main meals or sandwiches ive given a 6 for value for money as double the price to play with a member on a friday is IMO steep as the course itself was really quiet. i think £15 would have been fairer but on the whole a decent day
this links is a real nice days golf, first hole 284 yds,s.i. 18 easy!think again, all uphill and well bunkered, after that a challenge on every hole and a pleasure to play.
the best green Ive played on in the UK outside the championship courses
Oh hi there. This course recently hosted the lancishire golf championships, unfortunately i was punished by the overall length of the course and the hill in which it contained. I still managed to par the course with a dismal round of 72.
Not overly long, but a good test. Greens excellent and the rough was enough to punish my playing partner (12 h/capper) to the tune of 6 balls. Some very attractive holes.
