I played this course when touring the area and having failed to get a time at Carnousite or Montrose. Don't be fooled by the relatively low green fees - this is a cracking course, in superb condition. It's a testing course, with out of bounds playing a part in most of the holes on the front 9. Although it is not as tricky as the front 9, some of the views on the second half of the course are spectactular. The food was excellent making the experience for our party of six, an enjoyable one from start to finish.
We played this course during aweek of golf in the area. It was in very good condition with excellent greens. It is a little unusual as the course is split into distinct sectors of holes, probably due to the new looking dual carriageway that splits the course. However it does not detract from the enjoyment of playing the course which is fairly easy walking but not at all dull. Our group of three men and three ladies with varying handicaps ranging from 7 to 34 all thoroughly enjoyed our day. It was concluded with an excellent meal and wine at very competitive price. All the staff were very friendly and courteous including the green staff on the course who were all cheerful and helpful. Well worth a visit.
