4 reviews of Caprington Golf Club

Caprington is a lovely short challenging course with a variation of different types of holes. The condition is good the now and im hopeing it will stay this way. for me the hardest hole to come of with a par are the 4th blind green downhill about 225 yards and the 16th uphill par 3 around 240 yards. Caprington now has its very own pro Bob Joesy and a shop which opened at the begining of the year and is going uphill rapidly, Bob has many years of experience. I recommend this course its and enjoyable round of golf.

Caprington Golf Club is my home course and i have played there all my golfing carer (3 years im only 15). Over the years i have seen caprington mature and become a good course to play alouth it is short its chalenging. If you are to shoot a good round you either need luck or you know the course. The best holes are 2nd par 3, 3rd from medal tees, 6th par 4, 7th par 4, 8th par 4, 13th par 5 the longest hole on the course, 16th par 3 and the 18th a nice par 3 to finish. I hope to see some new faces on the course about april may time when course is nearly in its best condition.

Played the course today. Fairly short but in reasonable condition. Some fairly wet patches and greens a bit patchy and bumpy but you would expect that at this time of year. A few blind shots and raised/plateau greens which can add to the difficulty if you have never played the course before. No distance markers in the fairways so very much having to rely on eyeball for distances to the greens. Best holes are the stroke index 1 sixth - 450 yards into a wind - very difficult; the 7th which is in the opposite direction to the 6th; the 8th, 13th and the 16th a nice longish uphill par 3. It is a popular course so it is advisable to phone and book a tee off time. The course is not one you would go out of your way to play but if you are in the area give it a try and enjoy.

this course has great potential but sadly as this is apublic course and not a private one, it suffers fron the lack of a professional greenkeeper.
