5 reviews of Casterton Golf Course
This course is a delight! We were invited to play by friends who are members there, and , to be honest we weren't expecting too much. In the month prior to playing here, we had visited Alwoodley and Lindrick, two of "the best" courses in England, so standards were high. Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed those, we enjoyed Casterton just as much! It is really well looked after, every single hole is a challenge and the views are splendid. As I said at the start it is a delight, as is the steak pie in the clubhouse! Try both!
Best value around, £20 for 18 holes, bacon roll and Tea on arrival, 2 course meal afterwards! Nice course, some tricky tee shots for a first visit, gets easier with experience. Some good par 4's, the only par five is nice, the 3's lack a bit of interest, one has a bunker, one has a rocky bank behind. Fantastic views from the higher holes.
This small but challenging course. It is a delight to play. It is extremely well maintained. I have played here many times and every time I have enjoyed it. This golf club is also very welcoming and the locals are really friendly.
Smashing little course, and excellent value to, the locals were very friendly and several of them asked me if I wanted to join them as I was on holiday and playing by myself. The course was in excellent condition and there are some interesting holes. If you are in the area give this course a go. I enjoyed it so much I went back several days later.
A warm welcome awaits. I have always found this course in excellent condition, and it represents remarkably good value. There are some very well designed holes, and the views are superb. Well worth a visit
