Can you give a golf course six stars? This is an absolute belter. From the service to the clubhouse to the excellent layout, Castle Stuart has it all. I've played a lot of links golf and although as a purist I can tell it is new the views and condition really make this worth a play. It is superbly designed and I personally think it is a very tough course although the pros shot some really low scores here in the Scottish Open. If you are going on a golf break in Scotland make this one of the courses you play, you will not be disappointed!
Just back from an Inverness Golf Tour and have to say this is one of the most underrated golf regions in the UK. With the likes of Royal Dornoch and Nairn within fairly easy reach, this combined with Castle Stuart make this a quite simply unbeatable 3 course tour. For a new course it is a real treat. I think the only real thing which sets itself out as a links course is how well manicured the course is. The fairways and greens were just great. Views across the bay are simply sensational. Well recommended, take a golf break here soon.
I've been fortunate to golf in many countries and can safely say that is is as memorable an experience as I can remember. Despite its relative youth, the course at Castle Stuart is an unforgettable layout, not only visually but also from a design point aspect which ensures the courses beds perfectly in with its surroundings. Revered as the new Kingsbarns, Castle Stuart is a little further North but can fully recommend for anyone looking for something special on their golfing tour. With a number of excellent courses within fairly easy reach in Royal Dornoch, Spey Valley and Nairn this is a great golfing destination for anyone wanting to see and experience links golf at its finest.
Absolutely stunning. There is no other way to describe this course. Yes the green fee is not cheap but it really is worth every penny. They have a superb short game practice area and driving range with baskets of balls laid out ready at every position along with tees. The welcome from all the staff is first class. You get a nice tartan goodie bag on the 1st tee containing your course guide, score card, pencil, quality tees and a lovely polished metal badge for your golf bag. The starter escorts you to the first tee and talks you through some of the features of the course (not all sandy areas are bunkers). Look at the pictures on their website and you will see what I mean. I've already booked to go back.
