We played Chevin Sunday 29th March with our society. The course is interesting with five par 3's and two par 5's. It's a short course but tricky. The first hole is a straight gentle par 4 then you slowly work your way up the hill to the 9th at the very top. The views are absolutely stunning and the course in general was in good condition. The two issues we had were poor sinage especially from the 13th to the 14th which slowed down play as we tried to find our way. The main problem was, as is with most courses this time of year was the condition of the greens, they had been heavily sanded and airated which is fine as they need to be done however the size of the holes used were huge and made putting very difficult also when marking your ball is would sometimes roll into the holes !!! We therefore felt the £30 green fees should have been reduced to reflect this. Apart from that we had a great day, the welcome and staff were superb , the members we met were pleasant, the food was great value and flexible not charging for one member who didn't turn up on the day. Overall I think Chevin is an excellent course, it's very interesting and a good test of golf, it was let down today by the condition of the greens, I would love to come back and play Chevin in the summer when I'm sure the greens would be superb, if your planning to play in March ask about the greens and try and get a reduced rate !

This is some club and course and comes strongly recommended for an absorbing and challenging game. Our twenty strong Society played it last Sunday and were made very welcome by both the staff and members alike and, in particular, the Pro. The course is in excellent condition and you gradually climb to the top of a hill in incremental stages. On several occasions you think you must have reached the peak, only to find there is yet another hole. The views are wonderful from the top to make the ascent worthwhile. Quite a number of blind shots and a course planner is very useful. It will be evident that a powered trolley makes things rather easier and they are available for hire but no buggies and could not be due to the width and angles of some of the connecting paths from green to the next tee. The high tea laid on for us afterwards was excellent and very reasonably priced. We did enjoy the experience and would certainly welcome another visit but you need to be fit to make the most of it.

A great Golf Course. Not long, but hilly hardly describes it. Do not even contemplate 36 hills on the same day.

superb course, testing uphill holes, and i mean uphill. It took me a couple of weeks to recover but it was definitely worth it.
