1 review of Chiangmai-Lamphun Golf Club
A very exacting course set in a beautifully wooded valley. The course and greens are well kept and very quick with most having subtle borrows. Wayward shots are generally penalised by the trees, bunkers or water/water hazards. The premium is being accurate from the tee! lapses of concentration are usually punished. The holes are varied and a great test of golf - the highish handicapper is unlikely to play to their handicap and the course needs to be played several times before it can be tamed. The 'signature hole is the ninth - approaching the clubhouse, being a sharp 'dogleg' right. It needs an accurate drive down the right side of the fairway - the second shot is a very daunting one across a large lake with something in the region of 180 yds carry to a sloping green with a few bunkers lurking - assuming one is in position'A' A weak or poorly positioned shot from the tee makes the green out of range - a truly spectacular hole! Changing accomodation is poor for a club of such stature - it hosted the S.Asian Games a few years back - the restaurant is excellent, either on the terraces or in airconditioned room and inexpensive. A course that provides a great day's golf and wills you to return.
