Chipstead Golf Club Ltd

I played Chipstead several times in previous decades and always found it a good short course with no terrors. On a recent return, I was surprised by the lack of signage between tees. It is quite easy to go astray. Course was in good condition for Winter, though it seemed a strange time to spike the greens.

I was a junior member here for many years. The course has a few weak holes, but also several memorable ones such as the 5th and 10th. It has a great deal of character and some good views over Banstead woods. It is a short course but the narrow fairways will reward steady, accurate play. This means it can provide a even test to male and female players of different ages and abilities.

A short but challenging course, well set out . The 4th a par 4 is a little naff as the fairway rolls steeply left to right and you'll almost certainly end up along the fence at the bottom of the hill. There are 3 back to back par 3's which I think its the 12th,13th and 14ths holes. Overal a good course although the greens are extremly slow. Definately a cardio vascular workout.Out of 10 a 7.
