First time I have played this course, overall a nice little course with some par three's giving you a chance to get so pars on your card & the 15th & 18th to test you. My favourite was the 14th as its down hill and you get a good view as your ball sails through the air and hopefully land near the pin. The 6th is a nice Par 5 and for the big hitter a chance to get on the green in two. The 13th is long but still gives you a chance at Par. Nice club house with very helpful staff. a very pleasant day out and I hope to return in the future. Played in May 2015.
the length quoted on this site is incorrect. it's 5863yards off the very back sticks. A decent course with a few very nice holes, but not one we'll be visiting again. Disappointed they didn't tell us the greens had just had more sand laid on them than most beaches i've been to.I know it has to be done, but they should warn you beforehand.
Fantastic course, uses bunkers and water amazingly yet to its not impossible. I would highly recommend for anyone who has an understanding of the game.
Very friendly club and although not the longest - there are 6 par 3's but 3 of them are over water and 190,215 and 225 respectively. Some very good holes notably par 5 6th,8th, 12th a long dogleg par 4 and the 2 longest par 3's 15 and 18 (what a way to finish and a card wrecker) . Make the most of your oppertuniies on the front 9 as the back 9 are a real challenge. greens are excellent and tricky to read 13 especialy and 7 and 10 have big slopes and swings.
Played here at the weekend and thought the course was in great condition given the recent weather. The greens are first class and they have avoided using temporaries all winter. Much drainage work over the past few years is evidenced by the fairways being good for this time of year. The course is fairly short (par 69) but not without challenges and tree planting has tightened many holes up. Some great holes on the back 9 especially 12th and the two long par three 15th and 18th (both over water). Club house is very friendly and staff look afteryou well.
This course is pretty shot 5500 yards or so with 6 par 3's and only 1 par 4 above 400 yards (401). This said it is still a test with plenty of hazards on every hole. It's shortcomings are a distinct lack of roungh and the fairways weren't in great condition when we played. Greens were excellent as were the bunkers and the setting is lovely - plenty of holes with blind tee shots. The par 5 on the front 9 (5 or 6) with water down the right was a great hole and I liked the 18th 215 yard par 3 over water but apart from that not many holes really stick in the memory.
This course sells itself as "Friendliest course in surrey, I am afraid its anything but friendly and does not welcome visitors only members. We tried to get a booking at twilight and after they found out we werent members told us we couldnt book a time, hardly friendly. We play off a low handicap with certificate so avoid if you can.
chobham has improved greatly over the years with more and more members saying its getting better every year. Their are some great holes with a few long par 3's 15th and 18th being the toughest they can play nearly upto 200 yards with water. A very friendly club house, been open for just over 10 years now.
Chobham is a fairly new course of which I have just joined. The holes vary dramatically and it is a very FAIR course. My favourite holes are the 8th, a par 4 downhill dog leg left and the 13th, a par 5 dog leg left with the green down a dip. The clubhouse is very welcoming with an open plan lounge area.
