Just played the "sea" front 9 and "pines" back 9. Quite a contrast: front 9 is open with some big carries over water if you go for it, whereas back nine winds its way through the trees. Both played very long due to the course being overwatered - this affected the condition of the course as well, with divots and spike marks all over the place. With a stiff breeze coming off the coast, this is quite a challenge.

Adequate resort courses. If they were to grow the rough up it moght toughen the two courses up to make them a better proposition, but is that what you really want from a holiday course? The rounds seem slow as it is without the added delays of searching for the abundent wayward shots. A combination of the holes 10 - 18 from the A course and the loop of holes 1 - 4 and 14 - 18 of the B course would probably make this a decent track. Maybe this is how Seve designed it, as it was originally a 27 hole layout, the last nine holes coming a few years later. The B course is in my opinion the better of the two 18's on offer at Novo Sancti Petri, and as is usual for me when I go anywhere abroad, it was marred by the fact it had just re-opened after heavy maintenance so I couldnt really tell you how good the greens are. The greens on the A weren't the best I have ever putted on, but certainly not the worst either. Several interesting par threes on both courses, one featuring a long carry over wet stuff. A few long treks between greens and tees as well, so unless you are feeling really fit a buggy might be a good option.

Played the sea-side front 9 and pine tree back 9. Middle 9 was shut for maintenance during september. Front 9 quite poorly kept - especially fairways. Not much better that an average UK municipal. "Sea-side" is pushing it - only 1 hole backs onto sea (and on other side of hole is the driving range). Back 9 much better kept. Not particulary good value - Andalucian golf run a ticket for about GBP 100 you can play Montecastillo, Montemedio and others. Id do this in future.
