The course was in good nick and enjoyed my first time around there, met a nice gentleman who aasked to play the round with me, my day was nearly spoilt by two old bastards accusing me of not paying as I was walking down the first just because I forgot to sign the visitors book, very clicky with the members and not made to feel very welcome, not sure if I'll go back
Played yesterday(24/6/11) in a match for Rugby seniors versus Copsewood Grange seniors at the Grange. What a delightful surprise! It was my first visit and I was VERY impressed with the layout, fairways and the IMMACULATE greens. It is a course where one has to weigh up all the options before drivihg off the tee or approaching a green, not a course for the big hitters! Must be one of the best 9 hole courses in Warwickshire. Look forword to playing there again in the not too distant future. P.S.Excelllent company. Match result R.G.C.3 C.G.3
Played here for the first time at the start of May 2011. The clubhouse isn't up to much, but i must say that the condition of the course and the greens were exceptional. I play a lot of courses around the country and i must say that if you want to play a course with decent greens, the course is a must.
This course has gone through a transition period and has now become a little gem. The clubhouse is now in Allard Way not the old clubhouse in Binley Road. There is a new head greenkeeper and with the help of Peter Jones (consultant) the greens have improoved 100%. The course is tight hence the course record is still 69.
The grange is only a nine hole course but let me tell you its no push over this is one of the tightest courses that i have ever played with trees and water in play plenty of hazards an excellent par 5 double dog leg. You only need your irons if your a low handicap leave the woods at home,Overall the greens are firm somtimes to hard, So dont be looking to drop your short irons on the greens you will find mostly chip and run shots work here the only real gripe i have about the course is the walk back from the 9th its all up hill, (18th if you play it twice)The club on site is friendly and theres usually a happy hour around 4oclock.This course will test your game some find it easy (low handicaps)while mid to high struggle well worth the money but be warned if you play 18 when you get back to the tenth(first)there are nearly always people waiting to play the first although if your on the ninth green you should be called to play straight through .good luck .
