Im afraid this was course is expensive for what it is. The course itself is very average and looks badly maintained in places and to be honest I did not see one keeper or gardener out on the course when I played it. Extremely busy when I went which I also think makes you rush and not able to enjoy your round. I found myself on the tee of the first(Par 5) with the next tee time waiting behind me. I looked out and found a group in the middle of the fairway and another on the green. After seeing us three groups all playing the first hole together it was then I began to think we had been crammed in like sardines. Anyway my main concerns with the club is it looks rather untidy in places, Bunkers that look like ponds or that have never been introduced to a rake. I know a lot of clubs are like this but like I said earlier If I am to pay that little extra for a round it is for such luxuries as raked bunkers etc. IMO There are a lot better courses in this area.Sorry !
Not bad, not bad. Reviewing a course is often a testament to how well you played, how frustrated at your own ineptitude you become. So taking a deep breath, and not wanting to sound big headed, I rather enjoyed this course. A good mixture of holes with some tough par 3's in particular. Good use of bankings, ditches and trees make it seem a bit more interesting than many other similar relatively flat courses. Only disappointment was the 18th green being out of commission. Perhaps wouldn't want to pay the £28 weekend rate too often especially when paying for the 2 lads as well, but as we took advantage of the 4pm half price offer (and just got round in time) this was pretty reasonable value. Would play again on the next trip over to Hull.
The course is young and is a hard course to play it is the best course i have ever played at and you have lots of competions you have 1 a week atleast
Sad to read of previous player's experience. Do hope he goes back. I guarantee that he will be best pleased with the quality of current facilities and service! The addition of a health & fitness club (including pool) and new dining area makes the day a very pleasant experience. The course has matured significantly in the past 3/4 years and the greens a good as you will find in the area.
Staff are unfriendly to the point of being rude. Greens are extremely patchy especially the par 3 4th hole, the speed of play, especially behind some of the memebers is pedestrian. Altogether not worth the 14 quid they charge for a midweek round you'd be better off going to Springhead or Brandsburton.
This course, although relatively new, provides a lot of interest and is quite mature. There are some fairly testing holes, particularly when playing from the medal tees. Water comes into play on many holes particularly at the 12th and 17th. There is also a fine par 3 at the 16th where club selection is tricky. The 9th is a very nice dogleg where your first shot needs to clear a lake. If you are a big hitter you may just reach the green. The clubhouse serves great food and provides a very friendly atmosphere. All in all, well worth a visit and the green fees are very reasonable.
