Enjoyable course, very challenging with the hills, woods, rough and small streams and hole 1 is not the easiest of starts by any means! Overall, good only issue I found being an average/ bellow average player is when the ball does stray off the fairway it can be very difficult to locate even if you think you know where it went. Hopefully shall be making another visit.

Played here on Friday 25th May on a lovely summers day. Not played here for a couple or years and pleased to find that the owners have taken care of the course. Whilst it is not that long, you do need to have focus on where to put the ball, for example the first hole is very tight and can easily put the tee shot out of bounds as the driving range is to the left of the first tee. The greens have improved a great deal over the years but still could be cut a bit shorter as they were a bit slow. Will certainly play again this season.

Played 13/09/09 dull windy day. Looked at the card before I played 5066yds oh yeah! leave my woods at home. I didnt and was thankful. What you gain on the length you lose on the wind, the hiiliness and the smallish undulating super fast greens. Oh and did I mention the very penal rough. If you are lucky enough to find it in the rough lets hope you can get your club to it. The tees, fairways and greens were all of a good standard although divots came out too dry for my liking, but thats me.Also not a lot of recent rain. I play off 15 and lost my all my 3 shots whithin 5 holes on back 9. ( harsh ). This is a 9 hole course with 2 totally different tees on each hole. No queing and no build up on the 1st/10th. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and think I will play again

I played here recently for the first time and was quite impressed. It's a beginners course really but they've put in new greens which are fairly small and require a good shot. It's also a short course...Overall Id say its a short game sharpener for avearge players and good practice for beginners, but if you;re decent ie 12 handicapp and down, dont bother.

In 2004 new tee boxes have been added which has made all the difference and three new greens with plenty of contours on them. It is now 9 holes with 18 tees. Very friendly club, always make you welcome, well worth a visit for a round of golf.

Well done. There has been loads of improvements and the staff is excellent. i recomened that any golfer should check this course out. The competitions are brilliant and everyone has a great time. In my opinion, this is one of the best courses i have played at in my life.

Clearly the above comments were made last winter! The course is now under new ownership and boy what a difference. Locals are now visiting once again and during the summer new irrigation facilities and course cutting regimes are having a positive impact!! The course does need further work but the owners need a chance to do this in the winter. I suggest the above players take another look! Everyone else has!!

VERY CHEAP , AND NOT VERY CHEERFUL. THE COURSE NEEDS ALOT OF WORK ON IT , DRAINAGE FOR ONE,THE COURSE IS LIKE THE SOMME[1916] IN THE WINTER.THE GREENS ARE ALL CIRCULAR WITH A FLAG IN THE MIDDLE.. ON THE UPSIDE WHEN DRY , AND FAIRWAYS MOWEN, ITS GOT THE MOST DIFFICULT PAR 5 I HAVE EVER PLAYED [THE 1ST]

I have played this course once before and even put in a short report .However now as a far better golfer my view of Cuckfield in particular in the winter has changed and not for the better . On the plus size the lenght is not to bad ,a fair number of the holes interesting for their contours alone and the veiws are great . However in the winter on the downside its goes as follows; Tees -Terrible condition mud or long grass . Fairways- What fairways if you want to practice getting out of the rough Cuckfield is ideal because the fairways are like most courses rough .Whatsmore they are all very wey and poorly drained . Greens - Well they have a flag in the middle but they are to small and mown to about fairway level . In conclusion this could be a really goog public course for the basics are in place but at the mooment just forget it like the locals .2/10

Cuckfield is a good value pay and play nine hole that whilst for the most part rather open none the less deems a fair lenght off the tee . The first hole is the best and all to easy to mis judge with most of the remaining holes being up or down hill . Not a bad course for a quick nine holes . 5/10
