Played this course last year and it was an enjoyable challenging round(28 handicap). The course is totally flat which for me is great(i hate hills). The greens and fairways were well kept but the drainage on a few holes was suspect. Visitors green fees are great value for money so well worth checking out. The staff were friendly and the clubhouse seemed friendly and quite lively the day we were in.

This is a great course in the summer time and can prove a good challenge for any level of golfer. The greenkeepers do the best job they can but now and again the Scottish weather takes control and the course becomes unplayable but this is usually only in the winter months. On a good day Dumbarton can be a great course to get a good score but when you are not playing well this course can through up just as much trouble as local rivals Cardross. This course is a must if you are in the area and are wanting a good round for a reasonable price!
