This is a 9 hole course, with optional tee to make 18 holes. It has had drainage problems on several fairways in the worst of the winter months. These have been resolved with new drainage ditches. It's a nice little course with ditches to test even low handicap players. Highly recommended.

I notice that this course hasn't been reviewed since 2008, so here is an update. This is, for a 9 hole golf course very well kept. I have spoken to a few 'NEW' players over the last few weeks and they all agree the course is challenging to beginner and those seeking to improve their game, as a former reviewer pointed out it is very good for practicing course management. During the last bout of bad weather this course was playable where others weren't. Give it a try, who know's you might just be able to get around in level par of 33 but unless you've a low handicap I doubt it.

I live in Eastbourne and play a reasonable round of golf (10 handicap) and although it is a little short on length and sand it is a good course management exercise as a lot of holes are well guarded by water if you are a little lose of the tee. Good for practice with improvised shots and lob wedges I always enjoy this course and the staff are friendly. If you want a no pressure round and just a decent little course, worth a try but avoid wet days if poss as it can be a touch frustrating.

To be honest in the winter i would avoid this course. With courses on higher dry ground a 5 minute drive away i personally think that would be wiser. I played here in January and hit a drive (on the 5th) about 20 yards short of the green on the fairway and lost my ball in mud. Mud which was actually the fairway in the summer and should be the fairway now! Having said that when its dry its a nice little course for a quick nine holes, especially if your a beginner or just out for the sake of playing and not to bothered about wearing trousers and the likes. Worth a look especially when they have green fee's which incorporate a free meal. The bar and clubhouse are quite nice and staff are welcoming to all players.

As you can tell from the other comments this course is aimed at absolute beginners (like me) and it is a good place to know the game without feeling pressured. Having said that quite a few "good" players turn up which I find puzzling; if I ever get a handicap I will go to a nicer course (this course isn't the best kept). There is a good range of holes but way too much water and not many bunkers. I have lost hundreds of balls to the many rivers and ponds that seem to engulf the course

As a group of new golfers of just 2 months experience me and my friends find this course very good indeed. The course is ideal for the beginner. You can practise on the driving range and then turn up and play a relaxed round of 9 holes free from the hassle of other more "professional" courses. Although we don't have much experience of many different golf courses we all agree that this course has a bit of everything - long holes, short holes, water hazards and so on. Our only gripe would perhaps be that there aren't many sand bunkers in which to land!

The previous report is correct, its far too easy for anyone below 20 handicap. I'm currently an 18h'cap and went round 18 holes in 6 over par. However, its an ideal little course for beginners and will get them used to playing in windy conditions. Slightly expensive for what it is, but caters for a niche in the Eastbourne area.

Following on from a previous report I think it only fair to point out that this course is not as bad as its been painted . It is a bit wet in the winter months and a touch short for the better golfers but for the high hanicapper and above it will be of interest . I found the staff most helpful and would suggest that if you require a quick 9 holes, in particular when the weather improves give this course a try .
