Played recently and found it to be a brilliant course. The brook that runs through the middle constantly tips up and makes this a challenge all the way through. Misleading greens are hard to read and in great condition. for a visiter at £34 per person on a Sunday was excellent value for money compared to other clubs in the vicinty. Maybe a bit short but trust me the short par 4's are very narrow from the tee, if you slice it by a couple of degree's get ready with the rescue club if you managed to stay inbounds!!!
25/09/09 Played in a society of 32 guys. The course is challenging and enjoyable, but! no sand in greenside bunkers and terrible tee boxes make it a bit annoying. The green fees are not the cheapest in the area by far and in my opinion, courses which charge over the norm need to get all their bits and pieces in order.
Played this course a couple of times as a visitor and both times found it in excellent condition. The back nine is quite a bit shorter than the front but I think harder. I have yet to avoid disaster on the 16th, a short par four which requires you to hit a middle iron over a large birch tree into a wooded glade and then pitch over more trees and a ditch onto the hidden green. Lots of other good, challenging holes too and staff have always been friendly and welcoming. Costs just £20 on Mondays too.
Played in a society event yesterday 29/6/07. There were 36 of us and we had a really enjoyable day. The staff were all very courteous and helpful and the club captain took time out to come over to our table at lunch and asked us how we enjoyed the course. The course was in excellent condition and the greens although very undulating (causing me to 3 put on several occasions)were very fast and very true. Overall an excellent days golf and I would highly reccommend any societies looking for a venue to try Enfield.
Very attractive parkland course, not to long, played in mid may and in very good condition you can see the course is well looked after. Some interesting holes with good chance of hitting most of them in regulation. Club house has good facilities and excellent clean changing rooms.
Enfield is a Robert Trent Jones course over undulating parkland. Revisions are in order to extend the course to a par 72. Especially at the 15th which was previously a par 4 but not practical because it required a mid iron off the tee followed by a 3 wood + second shot to reach the green which lies at a 90' dog leg right to the tee. There is a ditch running right through the course which is frequently in play off the tee especially the 9th Best holes are the 10th (par 3) and 12th (long par 4)
