4 reviews of Fosseway Golf Club and Centurion Hotel

For a visitors fee of just £5 to play as much in a day as you like, I thought this was tremendous value. Although the course is straight up and down and narrow, the good design of bunkers and trees make it interesting. The greens are kept in good order and the reception is always friendly and welcoming.

Hello. I played this course yesterday 7/8/05. I was extremely disappointed. Whether there has been a course management problem I do not know but I found the general condition of the course to be poor. Fairway grass was too long and the 'tight' rough really was rough. At no more than 10 degrees off target I do not expect to be stood one yard from the ball but still be unable to see it. Unkempt would seem to be a suitable description. The greens offer variety but again need some attention as there is often much 'ball bobble' part way through the run. The bunkers (I found two) were a disgrace and need reinstating with sand that is playable not something akin to concrete. I haven't enjoyed typing this review but feel I did not get value for money for the fee I was charged. Irrespective of my comments I feel with some attention to detail this course could be a very useful challenge for the golfer in need of 'honing' his straight game. John Green.

I agree with the previous comments. The course is a single field lined with trees and has no water and few bunkers. However, you need to play straight which is enough of a challenge for most of us !I found the greens in good condition, over a few rounds during the last 2 years. Expensive for 9 holes.

If you are after a challenging round of golf, this is not the place, every hole is as straight as an arrow. The longest hole was 280 yards so leave your woods in the car. The greens are not well looked after and not what you would expect for the price you pay for a round. If you do pay the full price you have been ripped off.
