Have just played the front 9 at Furzeley and having only bothered with the back 9 before I can honestly say I have just had a very pleasant suprise. As per the back 9, the course is well mantained, with greens of an excellent standard for a cheap pay and play course. I played with my Dad who is now getting on a bit and the layout was just right for him. Not intimidating lengthwise but enough of a challenge to keep interest for golfers of a reasonable standard. Also, the atmosphere is always friendly.
A well drained course even after heavey rain. I played this course for the first time and Found it very good practice for the short game. Lots of par 3 and par four holes (No par 5s) and very well maintained. The cost of a round is cheap. The staff are very friendly. I would recommend to course to all standard of players
me and my dad play either 18 or 9 holes the atmoshere is fantastic we love going to furzley's as its great for practice .
It is a very good course and very good for beginners Me and my son went today only for 9 holes but we both did it in under par and managed to find lots of golf balls
just got back from playing at Furzely. A great course to play on great par 3's and 4's. It's a great course to practice your short game and it is well worth a visit.
THIS COURSE WILL SUPRISE A LOT OF PEOPLE AND IS IDEAL FOR SHARPENING UP YOUR SHORT GAME TEN PAR 3S AND THE REST PAR 4S LESS THAN 5000 YDS BUT THE GREENS ARE LIKE VELVET AND £14 IS A VERY REASONABLE GREEN FEE
Hi, just come back from playing 18 holes at Furzley. Had a good round for myself as i have only previously played a couple of rounds at Great Slaterns in Portsmouth. A great well kept course with a range of difficulty although most are Par 3 and 4. Reasonable rate as well it is £11 for junior at the weekend. A great course and a brilliuant course for a beginner like myself.
This was the first 18 hole i played on , that was 4 years ago , I am playing off 16 at the moment and still find the course a good challange, this is a good course to sharpen up your short game. The course is in great condition for a pay and play. give it a go.....
Furzeley Golf Course will soon have a website that anyone that whats to know anything about the course can view it here. The course will also have downloads(Electronic Scorecard and Windows Icons) so you can have a part of Furzeley for your very own.
Furzley was one of the first courses which I started on about 8 years ago. I think it is a brilliant course for beginners and also for the not-so-big hitters, like me. The back nine holes are more suitbale for experienced golfers, but are still a good challenge. I would recommend Furzley to all golfers no matter what their handicap.
I only recently started playing golf in April 2002. The first course I played was Furzeley. Being new to the game I found Furzeley a good challange, however as time has gone on and I have learnt how to use the longer clubs more effectiveley I have found the course to short. It is by far one of the most attractive courses around and the wildlife is lovely. The greens are also well maintained and the pro shop and club pro are always helpful and polite. You will find the course suits people learning the game or dare I say it the older generation (sorry) who do not hit the ball perhaps as far. However I do still go there when I need to sharpen up on my short game.
I play the course quite often and im not to keen on it.The first nine are mainly par 3s and most of those are short. The second nine is better with some good holes and water features. However in the winter the course gets very muddy and in the summer its full of hackers.
I played the course yesterday and was very impressed. Although it is quite short it is challenging. A few holes having to play over water. I found the greens in very good condition for a pay & play course. The only down side for myself was the standard of golf being played, espicially two pairs in front of me and their lack of course etiquette. Ten shots of the 4th tee all found the water!!!!. Three would be acceptable. Plus the fact that one pair were sharing a bag. After waiting 15 minutes, yes 15 MINUTES !!!! I went back to the first hole and started again, thus avoiding the hold up. This aside I will be returning, in fact I a going in the morning so it can't all be bad. Very good course, well kept greens, freindly pro-shop, good challenge.
Furzley is a well maintained course that proves as a challenging course to improve your short game. There are some challenging holes where the water and natural features improve the accuracy of your game. A good course for both the novice and improving golfers
A fairly modern course, but maturing nicely. Mostly par 3's and 4's, longer par 4's on the back nine. A few lakes make some holes interesting. Well kept with good greens, worth a visit if you are in the area.
