2 reviews of Golf de Biarritz Le Phare
Biarritz is not a cheap city and Biarritz Le Phare is not a cheap golf club. But it is very well manicured, and does offer a challenge given the number of bunkers, pits and pace of its greens. Chiberta, a mile or so north is a far more thrilling course, but Le Pahre is easy walking and fun, hence its popularity with the older, affluent Biarritz residents. You can play nine if you want to, and which is advisable on a Monday when the first tee is packed with elderly fourballs. But, if you are in the area, do play it.
Mature course twinned with Augusta, Georgia. That explains why the greens are so quick. I managed to four putt the first green, a bit disappointing when it's a par five which I reached in two. Condition of the course is excellent, never a bad lie on the fairway. Although a lot of the holes seem to run in parallel to each other and therefore seem to be similar. Good off course facilities, although probably not worth the slight high green fees.
