Golf de la Freslonniere

This is a fabulous golf course and worth making a special effort to play. The fairways are lovely and the greens as good as anywhere else you will find. The course begins in a straightforward way with a generous par five but beware the blocked drive as this hole, like so many others, is straight through the forest. Every hole is different, some very long and some very short. The par three fifteenth is only a wedge but you had better be on the green. The sixteenth is a delightful ninety degree dog leg. Not a difficult tee shot but unless it is in the right place, you don't have a second. My favourite hole is the long and narrow downhill all the way par five fourteenth. Tree lined, down hill and shaped like an S. You cannot get on in two and unless your drive and second are hit and placed perfectly, three shots may be beyond you too. This is not a very difficult golf course, but your own greed can make it that way. Play it sensibly, place your shots, enjoy the views and the old statues that line some of the holes and you will play to your handicap.

Course in fantastic condition. Greens receptive and quicker than Les Ormes. Very tight tree lined fairways, suggest yellows if not low handicapper. Best hole: par 3 almost island green 8th, look out for the otters. Very welcoming bar, they recorded the England v Denmark match and played it back to us. Poorly signed from Le Rheu, allow extra time.

having played over 35 golf courses in northern france this is by far the best test,very tight fairways and alot of trees.
