4 reviews of Golf Do Estoril
Very pleasant course with immaculate greens. Quite short and not too challenging if you keep it fairly straight. The motorway is not noticable in my opinion. Everybody fairly laid back and speed of play was reasonable. (Monday morning, late May)
A superb course in every respect. Not long but still challenging. In superb condition and a relaxing clubhouse. Voted as the best of the week by our group. Don't let the motorway put you off.
Estoril has a mature, sleepy feel. The clubhouse is charming and has retained its past glories and good standards. This parkland course is maybe a little on the short side, but it is naturally laid out through dense rolling undulation. The greens are tiny, tricky and true. The dissecting motorway is evident only by its din. The compact nature puts more emphasis on club selection. Pluses: Serene, oldy worldy. Minuses: Short, and imposing motorway. Conclusion: Play and stay for drinks after.
Not easy to find. Less 'American' than many Portugese courses, Estoril has a nice variety of holes although most are tree-lined and there are a few with water hazards. There's a long hike between the two parts of the course - the lower half is the other side of the motorway - but other than that it's reasonably easy to walk. Good facilities including someone who cleaned and waxed my shoes while I was showering!!
