Such a friendly place to play golf. Mark Sumner has a superb golf store well stocked with all the latest gear and well priced. The food is great (so are the girls who serve it) and the bar were so welcoming. Some of the members here can drink. The course was in great condition, not crowded and the greens were excellent. The par threes were all different and holes 8 9 10 11 four difficult par fours. Hole 16 my favourite will test your 2nd shot . They are offering some great corporate deals next year . Loved it will be back.

Excellent links course. 4 great par threes and some memorable par 4s. The clubhouse is so friendly and we are always made so welcome. Value for money and a must for seaside golf. Not a Col Blimp anywhere to be found.

A very old links course that shares some of its holes with the racecourse (do not put the ball onto the track at your peril - lost ball)! In the wind and cold, this was a challenge with gorse dotted about, bunkers in the right places, and dune rough waiting on some holes. Not the prettiest, true, but some good holes even if the par threes are a real long struggle. Several 400 yrads plus par 4s, and not enough par 5s to make a score for us high handicappers! Must get a bit battered in high dry summer, but greens are interesting, eg mostly difficult. The clubhouse was very welcoming and reasonable, the fees on a Monday very cheap, so a hidden gem well worth seeking out.

played on the friday 31st July in our society the Pennine Golf Society, where 10 of us attempted to take on this intriging links course.A GREAT course well worth the money and a fair challenge.I WOULD SUGGEST THAT ANYONE OVER SAY 18 HANDICAP would struggle if the wind got up say over 15mph,so therefore stay clear.I playb off 13 and shot 83 gross for my first time on the course and played in 30mph wind gusts,so really enjoyed it and played well. Recommend it,great value, great course.

Played as part of large group (about 16 of us) on a weekend trip in March 2009. Very pleasantly surprised by the course. An odd start teeing off over the racecourse but it gets better, although the last 2 holes are a bit disappointing. Very "linksy" but without being able to see the sea for the majority of the round, due to some very attractive mobile homes that line the seaward side. The club house & members were very friendly & provided a great breakfast to start us off before the round, good beer afterwards in a very comfortable bar. Overall great value and very pleasant round of golf.

Played here January 08 (£23 including a 2 course meal). Quite an interesting, fun, quirky links .It's unusual in that it goes in & out of a horse racetrack (on the 1st you actually go over the railings twice)but it doesn't detract that much from the actual course. The surroundings aren't that pretty with a caravan park running along one boundary & at no point do you see the sea. Easy walking, there's a good variety of holes here. With sleepers ,gorse ,marker posts, humpy fairways most of the holes are interesting.(The tough 11th is a cracker with the fairway funnelling along between high dunes that wouldn't be out of place on an open championship course). Although the par 3's are quite good the shortest one is 161 yards & if a couple of them were around 150 yards they would be more entertaining. Also, there's only 1 par 3 in the 1st 11 holes so it's a bit imbalanced. The pro was very welcoming & the 2 course meal after was good. This is a very old club & you can feel the history in the course. For some good fun links golf i'd have no hesitation in recommending this. Kevin B.

A really pleasant surprise. It msy not have the name of one of the classic links but it works. Criss crossing the racecourse you fear the worst on the first tee...but it gets better and better, good long holes, tricky short ones, all with high qualitygreens, even in February.Like most links it helps to have either played it before or have someone who has playing with you, soour second round made life easier added tothe fact there was no wind. The clubhouse maybe could do with updating but you cannot deny the friendly atmosphere....from what I saw these guys can drink, the food was well priced and excellent quality. This is a real hidden gem, priced to play, give it a go
