Herne Bay Golf Club

This is the most unfriendly course I have ever played at. During the round I have had my golf bag hit by a member teeing off behind me, I have had my golf ball stolen (yes I did see him do it). I took my dad and my young brother to play as they were looking at joining but we came in arfter nine holes. e was approached by a lady member and informed that as there was a ladies comp we would have to speed up our play, tis could not be done as there was a 3 ball in front of us and a 4 ball in front of them, I explained this to the member but was brushed off with "I'm playing in a competion and you HAVE TO speed up". This behaviour does not look good on the course and new members. This is one course I will NEVER play again.

Don't let initial impressions put you off. I played this course in May this year.Despite the poor car park surface and 1970's feel to the clubhouse once you got out onto the course it was a real delight. Given the recent difficult weather conditions the ground staff had done a terrific job. The fairways were true and the greens in great nick. The course is a good test for high handicappers like myself with some particulariy undulating greens but no desperately long holes and the odd surprise lurking if you overshot the green. The off course facilities were a bit dissapointing (especially the Bar which was closed at 5.15pm when we finished) but all in all if only for the course condition I will definitely go back again.
