Nice course tucked away in a quiet corner of North London. The course is well kept and the greens are good. It is a tad on the short side with a couple of holes up and across an undergroud reservoir so there are a few blind tee shots. The course is compact - greens / tees close / fairways adjacent so you need to keep your wits about you for mishit shots. You also have to plot your way round and have an accurate approach as the greens are on the small side. Saying that I enjoy playing here and the food after is always very good.
Played here midweek, August 09 . Unenjoyable ,hilly course . It's difficult to find positives with the course . The first 5 holes are decent enough (the par 3 4th is a good hole ) but after these the remaining holes are just very average .I'd become bored of the it by the turn & the back 9 became a chore .Although it's in a fairly compact area i didn't think it was a great design .There's a bit of an up & down feel to it all & slopes knock some straight drives off into the rough . Also ,I don't think they have a fairway irrigation system so this makes the course condition appear mediocre & with a slightly scruffy feel to some areas .The appearance wasn't improved by several fairway drainage grooves & even a gravel one & a large ,flat middle of the course reservoir type area. Playing here in the winter would be a bit grim. The office & pro were welcoming & friendly ,there are great views from the clubhouse terrace but this isn't a course that i'd want to return to . If you're in the area play Hendon or South Herts. Kevin B.
good value in a salubrious area of london.the greens are the real star of this course.17th hole par 3 is the picture hole.some long par fours.most par 4s are reachable in regulation.worth a visit.friendly pro.this was the 164th different course ive played to date.definitely one of the best as far as greens go. eaglehunter
We really enjoyed our round at the Highgate GC and we learned that the greater region of London can be very hilly. Better hire a electric trolley, when your age is over 50. The course was very nice and well prepared - all tee boxes, greens and fairways were perfect. The pro shop was very supportive and friendly. The clubhouse is okay with a nice terrace seating area.
A well-maintained course which rewards accuracy. Great club-house. Excellent value for money at £34 for visitors for something so close to the central London.
Having lived in West Sussex for 25 years I have never found this course locally. Surely it is located north of London!
