Excellent course, not the hardest but you must put your ball in the fairway. I was really surprised by how good the greens were for December. My favorite holes are along the coast, open to the elements. Thoroughly enjoyed my game & the welcome I got as a visitor was very much appreciated. I will be back next year
Smashing little course. Greens in pretty good condition even though I played at the end of October. Not long course, I hardly touched the driver. Fantastic fun even on a very windy day. If you are ever in the area play here you wouldnt be disappointed, I wasnt.
This is a hybrid course consisting of half links and half heathland. The front nine (heathland) consists of gorse lined wide fairways and undulating greens. It is not a particularly long course. Accuracy off the tee box and onto the relatively small greens is the priority. The second nine (links) is a lot more fun and, due to the exposure, much more difficult. The 12th hole is the signature hole, approximately 150 yards forward and 50 yards down onto a small green protected by gorse in all directions (See photograph). I enjoyed playing this course even with strong winds making it near impossible to play to my handicap. This course is great value for money and I would recommend anyone to play it. Personally, I thought it the weakest course of my golfing holiday so I will not be returning here during my next visit.
The course was in fantastic condition and looked stunning, the sun was shinning and no wind!! If you don't score low on the front nine you might struggle on the back nine. The last three holes were designed to destroy your card and they do just that. The 12th is probably one of the best holes in golf!! The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. The food is of good quality and the beer is good too!! A great day out for all golfers, a real test of golf you have to be able to think your way around this course as well as hit the ball straight.
Another example of the fact that you don't have to play championship courses in Scotland to enjoy a fair, testing, memorable round of golf. Make sure you make your score on the easier inland outward 9. The back 9 is ultimate links and is fantastic, but requires greater accuracy. Another great value course on 2F1.
A friend and I played the course in June 2004 and found it an excellent and enjoyable test. Greens in excellent condition, gorse in full bloom (!), larks singing and a comfortable clubhouse with good value meals. We were so taken with the holes from the 12th to 18th that we played them a second time. Can't wait to get back!
After the ravages of playing the championship links of Lossiemouth and Nairn, it was nice to face a short but tricky course with some lovely views across the bay. The greens were small and well kept and the whole experience was excellent value. I did play on a calm, sunny day though I suspect it is much harder in the wind.
My first taste of Scottish golf earlier this year and I wasn't dissapointed. Not the most difficult course but the gorse is very thick and its easy to lose balls here. Greens in A1 condition and look forward to returning next year.
An interesting course with an excellent par three the 12th. Lots of gorse to avoid. The first two holes are a little battle scarred but after that it improves greatly. Keeping it straight doesnt always help as some of the holes have lumps that kicj your ball all over the place but a good course for the money.
A frustrating days golf made bearable by my tee shot on the 152yd par3 12th 100ft drop from tee to green\r\nA 30mph gusting wind left to right into my face.I thought "what the hell" and pulled my driver out, placed the ball level with my front foot and aimed to the middle of the leftside bunker and launched the clubhead under the ball\r\nIt flew up into the air about 100ft where the wind seemed to stop it dead before pushing it to the right, where it plummeted vertically to the green ending up about 10ft from the hole.Needless to say I 3putted from there\r\nA fine course with the usual spectacular views of the area\r\nNext time it will be calm I "HOPE MAN!"
