1 review of Inverallochy Golf Club
An interesting course, both for golfing and historical reasons, and worth playing if you're in the area or playing a round at the nearby Fraserburgh links. The course is short (just under 5,000 yards from the visitor tees), but the addition of 50-some bunkers in the last year or two has made it a tough little course. It used to be bunker-less. It sits right on the edge of the sea, and is very exposed to the wind, as it lacks any large sand dunes to keep the winds at bay. It is also a true out-and-back course, so you have to make major club adjustments mid-round depending on the wind. A few holes are routine, but many are quite good, and a few (nos. 9, 12, and esp. 13) are first-rate. Thd clubhouse is brand-new and welcoming, and features several interesting articles about the famed fishermen golfers of Inverallochy. They were among the last golfers to give up the old gutty balls at the turn of the century. Overall, well worth a visit.
