well kept greens during the summer, fantastic terrace bar. Was a little stuffy in the past but now more open and friendly
Good course & greens that is well kept. One or two plain holes but generally very good and well worth a visit. Nice terace and bar

We spent one of the best summer evenings playing Knebworth, and found the whole exeperience worthwhile. The course itself was set up brilliantly, most holes are tight and do not always demand a driver, the greens were its main defence as some of the pins were in really tricky positions and the breaks severe.Trees guard fairways on every hole and it makes a refeshing change form modern open your shoulders and hit it anywhere courses. Afterwards the balcony overlooks the whole course and not much could beat seeing the sun settle over Hertfordshire with people struggling up the long Par 5 last hole. Everyone at the club was welcoming and friendly and we will be visiting again
The layout of the course is quite ordinary with many holes feeling similar. The attitude towards visitors was also not welcoming.
Played mid October in a 36 hole outing of a 13 golfers of wide ranging handicaps (from 2 to 22) all of who really enjoyed it. The morning tee off (at 8am) was in thick fog with very limited vision, thus needing a shout to the following group when you cleared the green. However the scores for the first 9/10 holes of almost every one, showed what can be done when the driver is kept in the bag and sensible shots are played to ensure that the ball is found !! The second 18 in the afternoon was played in sunshine, and the big sticks came out, resulting in difficult recovery shots being necessary from under the many mature trees that were shedding their leaves in great abundance. Our package was excellent value for money, with friendly and helpful staff (particularly the starter-marshal) and a great three course well presented meal. We found some of the members a little stuffy but after all, one goes to play golf not make life long friends, I will certainly aim to play here again next year.
If you get the chance, don't turn it down. Lovely undulating parkland course in super condition. Plenty of trees if you're really off line, but not too tight. Greens in superb nick. Just right for the mid-handicapper, or from the whites it would test the single figure guys. If you don't take enough club on the par 3 14th across the valley it could add a nasty blemish to your tidy card - as I found out.
What a superb day out! Magnificent course, testing yet forgiving at times, excellent greens. As good as Ashridge,Woburn etc.,but at a fraction of the cost. Friendly, helpful staff, both in the Pro Shop & the Club House, where you find a good range of meals and snacks,at realistic prices. Treat yourself :- £30 for a Day Ticket!!.
