Played on Wednesday and the course was terrible! Overgrown bunkers everywhere, grass too long on tees and the fairways were like the first cut of rough. What should have been the first cut was 2 or 3 inches high! Broken rakes, scalped greens, this place is a knightmare. I will never play this place again!

Played the course yesterday (28/1/12) and there is hardly any difference between to fairways and the first cut which seems to be very long and this resulted in our round taking twice as long as normal due to the fact we were looking for our balls in the very long grass as we had missed the fairway by a matter of yards. Overal the course is pretty good but take plenty of balls if you tend to miss the fairway (just). If they get this issue sorted it will become a lot enjoyable to play with stop starting looking for your ball even when you seen it land.

Just completed 18 holes here and feel compelled to add a review, a really enjoyable course, and as a novice I found it easy to navigate. well kept fairways and the greens were as good to other local courses I've played. I'll return in the very near future.

Have played here a couple of times not a bad course for a beginner - it is short and flat...and boring and overpriced. The front 9 is terrible. Stray slightly from the fairway and you may not find your as the "1st cut" rough is kept too long. If you can play golf to a reasonable standard stay clear from here.

Played this course recently and was awfully disapointed! First off, no discount for playing with a member and at 15 pound for a long pitch and putt course I thought this was pretty ridiculous! The greens had been spiked so badly in September that there were still holes in some parts in early feb making any putt longer than 5 yards virtually impossible. Finally after 18 holes (11 par 3's) we arrived at the clubhouse to be told that there was a function there and they couldn't accomadate us because the clubhouse is a completely different business to Lakeside golf course. OK their a public course and you expect the odd non repaired pitch mark here and there, but, they charge a hefty price so they should provide a course to match it!

I played on the course 17.10.06. Overall i really enjoyed and was impressed with the variety of holes. Considering this is a course welcoming non-members, i believe it is kept in reasonable condition for the time of year. I would certainly play again

As a member of lakeside i think it`s very good course for beginners and for the low handicap players. bunkers are well kept loads of par 3`s to test your short game some long par 4`s holes to test your driver on or you might wanna lay up but then your left a challenging second shot to the green. you are made very welcome at lakeside golf course due to the great bunch of people who play there . ( chris , hoover , fritz , dean , richard ) to name a few. hope to see u soon

Pretty short course with mostly par 3's with a few par 4's. Course not kept very well(the grass being too long all over the course) Hit shots straight up the fairway and still had to spend time looking due to the length of the grass(Fairways are like semi-rough) More of a beginners course that could be quite nice if it was looked after a bit better ,and ,at 14 pound is quite expensive for what you get.

played on 22;10;05 where do i start the grass on the so called fairways is far to long [have they sacked the groundsman]Around the greens need a cut to. Greens very bumpy, sandy and thin on grass on many holes.Condition of the course was very poor considering the £14 green fees

Thoroughly enjoy this course.. i do agree however with some of the comments stated above.. i.e the neglected bunkers and wind... but still i great course, and great food afterwards!!! Always a joy

Posted by Stu Jones on 07/04/2003

Quite a tricky challenge when the wind is up. Mostly very small greens to aim for and not a lot of room to stop longer shots on them.

Nice course for beginners.Alot of par3.Could do with making it challenging with a few more long holes. There is one hard par3 could FRITZ ROAD

Posted by dar.m on 22/05/2001

A good course for beginers although bunkers have been neglected lately. Mostly par 3's with a few par 4's to boot. "Ground under repair" seems to be on-going now for an age. Also well known for it's industrial views.

it is a good course but you do not get a graet deal of difercilte. but when the weind is up it is a good chalang. the 12 and 14 houl are abut tthe best. if yuo are a beginer it can be verey good to get to grips with the game.

Posted by wiggy j.r. on 21/09/2000

when i have been on the course i have played ok but the more i have been i have got more confident so i think the course is a good course to get to grips with the game and improve youer skill.

Great course for beginners, and well kept course. First 7 holes are a bit tedious, with not many hazards, apart from lake and bunkers in front of 5th. 8-18 are much better with good greens and deep bunkers for the inaccurate.

A GREAT COURSE FOR LEARNING THE UPS AND DOWNS OF THE GAME OF GOLF, EVEN THOUGH A SHORT COURSE MORE THAN ENOUGH DIFFICULTY TO CATCH OUT THE OVER CONFIDENT. A GREAT WELCOME IN THE CLUBHOUSE AND VERY GOOD FOOD, ALSO A GREAT BUNCH OF PEOPLE.
