Played here October ,2015 . Clifftop thriller . Hugely enjoyable James Braid designed course on a great site.I would describe it as a clifftop ,meadowland course with links characteristics . On arrival everything looked neat & tidy & the holes you could see well presented .Out on the course everything was immaculate & pristine & the greens absolutely perfect ,a real pleasure to putt on . Once you reach the high ground holes the views are tremendous . Holes 12 to 14 were a little weaker than the others being more parkland & i wasn't too fussed about the uphill par 5 2nd with the tree on the fairway but these were only minor gripes .The par 3 16th "death or glory" is aptly named & gets your' full attention . Nice clubhouse . We played on a drizzly day so i would like to return one day to get the full benefit of the views but even so this still added up to a memorable golfing experience . Kevin B.
I have played this course numerous times and I could never get bored of it. The condition and attention to detail is excellent. The staff said that the greens are always hand mown. They were superb. The views are the best I've seen in the u.k. Great course, great staff and great value for money
Even with dreadful weather and a paltry 23 point score I thoroughly enjoyed my 18 holes here. The views are magnificent , the greens immaculate and each hole offers a different and interesting challenge. Easily one of the nicest courses I've played and definitely want to return in better weather if possible.
Day three of our tour of S .Wales brought us to Langland Bay, what a wonderful sight greets you from the car park, and it gets better as you progress round this beautiful course. Great fairways and superb greens, Ok its not necessary a long hitters course, and on several holes leave the driver in the bag and go for position. There are a couple of occasions where care is need as one hole crosses another, dont be put off, there are ample warning signs and instructions who has priority. The best holes for me were 16 & 17; the 16th is a short par three over gorse to a postage stamp sized green with no bale out area at all! Its on the green or gone!! The 17th another good drive over gorse down hill to a sloping fairway 100ft. below, position is everything. Then a gentle climb to the 18th green with a view of the rather quaint clubhouse where the members were all very friendly, it felt like being at ones own club. As you might gather I enjoyed this beautiful course and will aim to return again next year, if you are looking for a challenging course with superb views this is it.
I try to play this course as often as I can when I am in the area...it is fantastic. The views from every hole, yes that's every hole, are fantastic. The course stretches from Langland right across to Caswell and it certainly tests you athletically, it is pretty hilly. The 16th and 17th are two of the best holes in golf, 16th short par three small green with perilous drop to the left hand side, the 17th tee is at the top of the cliff with a drive to the fairway about 50m below. The wind will play havoc with the second shot so club selection into a green protected by 4/5 bunkers is crucial. The course is quite expensive, I think £50 for a round, but based on the holes and the views I will keep on paying this and recommend others to do the same.
