4 reviews of Liberton Golf Club

Our last course on our 5 day holiday in October. Another short but tight course due to the mature trees. Had some very interesting holes, the greens were very good for the time of year probably some of the best we played on all week. Old pro shop (well stocked and cheap) The course is surrounded by houses on most sides and a couple of high rise blocks near the 4th hole (which I must say is a corker) but still relatively quiet. We had food and drink after play which in my recollection was the dearest we paid all week but still nice.

Played Liberton on Sunday 30th June as part of the Edinburgh Green fees arrangement, as our course was closed for maintenance. Greens in excellent condition. Made very welcome by the staff and members. Enjoyable round of golf.

Played liberton golf club by accident! We were booked into a neighbouring course but due to horrendous weather it was cancelled! A member of our party said we should try liberton as its close and known to be free draining! I wasn't expecting much and by gosh what a surprise! Course was in unbelievable condition considering the weather! The greens were receptive and true, the fairways were great condition and beautifully manicured! I can't recommend it highly enough! Give it a try.

Had the opportunity to play this course on numerous occasions whilst on holiday during July 2005. Not a long course but that doesn't take away the difficulty, some very deceiving holes here, the short 6th is one especially when the winds blowing into your face. Some very attractive holes like 3,4,9 and 15 are a good test for any handicapper. Greens are well kept though I thought they'd be more receptive to target shotmaking. Clubhouse excellent, facilities very good and the members and staff are some of the friendliest around, long may it continue Liberton and all the very best.
