10 reviews of Lilleshall Hall Golf Club

A fantastic course. First things first, if you havent got a straight shot your going to be in lots of trouble. Set in lovely Shropshire countryside next to the National Sports Centre. All holes are tree lined which plays tricks on your mind, the bunkers are great, even the loads of fairway bunkers. There are no par 5's on the course. The greens are reported to be fast but I found them fine the problem is reading the greens. Have a meal in the clubhouse as well, lovely big portions! All in all a great time even the 245 yard par 3. Its that good Im thinking of joining next year.

What an amazing Golf Course and Club. I played Lilleshall after a few days of heavy rain. The course though was a pleasure to play. I would seriously recommend a visit. The course itself. All par 4s and 3s, some of the 3s being long (200+ yds), most of the 4s short to medium in length. No par 4 was out of 2 well played shots. Many reviews say its a thinking man's course, I would agree, but a well hit drive doesn't half help get at the pins! The greens are where the real challenge of the course shows itself. Undulations with cups positioned in some tough places made it hard work to two putt. The general condition of the course was outstanding from teebox to green. Bunkers were in excellent condition, greens fast (very fast) but fair - No bobbles! and the course direction excellent. Favourites for me. The tee box on the fourth is highly memorable, water all around, with a narrow neck to aim for. The par 3 twelfth was a real test of nerve and accuracy. If I could have one gripe. Bunkers and the odd tree bang in middle of fairways does my head in!!! The new clubhouse is superb, the staff all around were friendly and genuinely pleased to help in any way. We will revisit I'm sure. Just don't tell too many people about this gem.

A shortish course, set close to the Lilleshall sports academy. Really in the middle of nowhere. Lilleshall is very pleasant for a day out golfing, they have a super clubhouse serving good food. The course has some interesting holes. It isn't a short course you can just murder, you need to think your way round. It is a pleasant change if you play a long course where the driver is king. To be fair, the greens weren't the best when we played, although I'm told this is the exception rather than the rule.

A beautifull course set in lovely countryside with excellent facilities since the new club house has been built. The front nine is maturing well following additional tree planting whilst the back nine is no push over. No one murders this course

Lilleshall Hall GC now has a brand new club house with excellent facilties of which we are justly proud, come along and see us, you should be impressed if your last visit was in our old clubhouse or the temporary one nicknamed the Butler Cabin! The course remains exactly the same except for some new tees which will be playable in the spring. - Look forward to seeing you.

Course- Front nine again quite open, back nine a little trickier. General atmosphere good within the club house, food and drink ok, good do a little better. General marks out of 10, 8. Well worth a visit.

Golf course very good. Short but protected against very low score by small undulating greens. Front nine though open is still tough, back nine is reminiscent of Wentworth with trees lined fairways. This is understood when one appreciates it was designed by Harry Colt who also deisgned Wentworth. A very good test of golf. Club members friendly. Catering is all home baked in the on course kitchen and is delicious. Club is let down a little by the club house but it does have a good atmosphere. I found the pro shop friendly and willing to listen and help with tips.
