1 review of Little Chalfont Golf Club
This is a nine hole course built on a sloping, in some parts severely sloping, field. Most holes have only a slight variation in tee marker positions between the first and second time around. There are two holes cut in each green for the same reason but although this spreads wear and tear, hardly seems necessary as the greens are too small for any great variation in clubbing. The greens were very slow and rough. Many a course will have better winter greens. I feared the worst on walking off the 1st tee as my shoes were, within yards, covered in mud but this area was the worst and the underfoot conditions rapidly improved. Teeing grounds were a bit uneven and worn but playable. The layout gives the impression of being "up and down" but several holes will provide most golfers with a challenge. Notable is the "par 5" 3rd hole. Only 415 yards but requiring a tee shot of, I would guess, 240 yards to reach the right angled corner of this dogleg. Anything less and you have to play your "third shot" second, so to speak. The par 3 second could be a very attractive hole and the uphill 5th requires nothing less than a very straight long iron or wood. Miss this green, left or right, and you will struggle to make par. At £14 for nine or eighteen it depends on how often you go round that will represent value for money. There is no nine hole fee. You may find once is enough.
