Played on a Sunday morning on a gorgeous summers day. This course is in what I can only describe as some of the best british countryside you will come accross. Rolling hills for miles and a 360 degree view from the first tee with views accross to the Lake district, Blackpool and the Bowland Fells. The course is defenitely a challenge and the rough was quite long and difficult to hit from with anything but a perfect lie. Although this course is quite short, the tight fairways and cross winds coming up the hill make this course one for the thinker if you want to post a low score. The greens were in perfect condition and although they didn;t always look it they were lightning fast and true as can be. Hit a downhill putt too hard and you're off the other side of hte green so no simple 2 putts here lads. If there is a down side I would have to say its the ridiculous hike up the 20% inclince all the way up the 18th. Not one for the fat boys I'm afraid. unless of course you take a buggy. Not sure on the best hole but there are a few that are fun to play. the 17th stood out to me. Approx 285 yards down hill par 4 with a creek accross the front of the green. Drive it at your peril or play a 5 iron to roll up to the creek and chip over. Good course but more for the lower handicapper, or at least the more conservative golfer. Not a place for hte wayward big hitters!
Played the course in a 3-ball yesterday and was very impressed with the condition of the greens, the overall layout of the course and the spectacular views afforded as we ventured around the course. The course was fairly busy but nobody seemed to encroach on each others "zones". Some very interesting holes, and they all seem to offer a chance if you are on your game. You will play a few shots uphill, downhill and from the sides of hills - all good fun ! Staff and members all very friendly, will be back in the coming years.
my son and i played for £25 today. poor weather conditions didnt help. great views from the higher points of the course. not overally long but thought required on most holes. quite a hilly course and a very steep walk up 18 could affect tiring players. wet conditions over the last few days left the course quite boggy in some places which may walking up and down hills difficult. some greens were in good nick but others were very spongy as for the course itself. some great driving holes. 1 and 17 spring to mind and two very similar up hill holes 2 & 18. i dont think its a course for a high handicapper but at £17 for an adult to play on a sunday decent value for money. good off course facilities with a decent proshop and good club house. the driving range behind the third tee looked very impressive- the course design didnt really didnt suit the way i play golf and i didnt play very well but i have marked the course as fairly as a i can
Our society visited the first week in September (at the start of the society's annual tour). The course was in fantastic condition. A real gem. The clubhouse was very welcoming with great bar snacks. I would recommend any society to visit and enjoy.
Superb views, greens and an overall delight to play. Good value for money and one of the best clubhouses i have been into with great food and views of the course. Rest of the lads in the group agree this is the best we have visited. A must for a quick return.
WOW WHAT A SETUP AND COURSE.FANTASTIC VALUE.THE GREENS ARE LIKE SNOOKER TABLES SURFACES.THERE ARE SO MANY GREAT ELEVATED TEES BUT ONLT TWO HOLES REALLY INVOLVE A CLIMB.A SHORT COURSE ,ONLY 5842 OFF THE YELLOWS BUT STILL A CHALLENGE TO PLAY.THE 4 PAR 3 HOLES ARE A JOY TO PLAY.THE VIEWS WHILE PLAYING THIS COURSE ARE AMAZING.WE PLAYED ON AWARM ,WINDLESS DAY AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY I FOUND IT THE BEST COURSE IN THE UK FOR THIS PRICE. THE ONLY NEGATIVE IS THE LACK OF SIGNS TO THE NEXT TEE WHICH ON OCCASIONS CAN TAKE SOME FINDING. IF THE CLUB CAN SOUGHT THIS OUT ITS TRULY A PERFECT DAYS OUT FOR BOTH SOCIETIES(GREAT FOOD) AND INDIVIDUAL GOLFERS. CANT WAIT UNTIL I CAN PLAY THERE AGAIN.
Longridge Golf Club is the best value for money in Lancashire. The course in excellent condition with new drainage having been added. Superb views, friendly members and excellent food!
A testing course for beginners as some fairways are narrow, although greatest difficulty is the wind. Choose a good day for the weather and it's a great course. One of the most picturesque rounds of golf in the country.Currently £18, which includes food. Good value.
