Louth Golf Club

Louth was in fantastic condition when we visited during the first week of September. The fairways were immaculate, the grass lush, bunkers a joy to play from and the greens were quick, true and fairly receptive. Having played it many times over the years, this was the best I've seen it and especially as it was only £12 a round under a reciprocal club deal.

Day four of our tour of Lincolnshire coursers, we returned to Louth for the first time since 2007. Again a nice welcome in the pro shop and bar. Out onto the course and the it was nice to see my criticisms on my last visit have been addressed, in that there are signs to next green and good 150 yard markers. Considering the very dry period, the fairways were in great condition, probably the best of the week. Unfortunate the greens had been slit and top dressed which made putting rather a lottery, but we have to accept this work is necessary. But the general condition of the course was good, one or two bunkers had suffered with the over night rain, and were rather like porridge. Overall we all enjoyed the course, its a fair test of golf in nice surroundings, nice food in the clubhouse, would play again.

I played the course as part of a society day out on the 1st october 2007. I must commend the staff on maintaining a cracking course. I felt there was a good blend of long and short holes with acouple of driveable par 4's with the emphasis on accuracy.i would recommend the course to all.
