Fantastic course with interesting holes, great views, some superb deals. How anybody cant enjoy this course is beyond me! It never feels crowded and is very lush in summer although a bit water logged in winter. Good food in the pub but panini's a silly price. Make it cheaper and we will eat more! If you haven't played it before dont hesitate.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this course when I played it on 13/9/2010 on a miserable day. Hotel courses can often be a bit gimmicky but this one boasts an attractive and interesting layout with some excellent holes (the par 3s and 5s are particularly good). The course was heavy in places due to the recent wet weather and the greens were a bit chewed up (although running well). However, I can imagine in top condition on a sunny day it is a real stunner and can only improve with age. I didnt use the facilities but I can guess that they were good quality.
I have played Linden on several occassions now and have always enjoyed my rounds of golf there! It has some very tricky holes, with the par 3s being very beautiful and scenic (especially the 4th where you play over the pond in front of the green). There are some very good "photo holes" althought if you let your concentration drop the course will punish any wayward shots. There is a corporate bar which is friendly and welcoming, although I thought the food was a little pricey. All in all its a enjoyable day and well worth the money for a game of golf on a tough but spectacular course.
A party of 6 played the course on 13th September. We were all unimpressed by the layout and condition of the course ( the greens in particular were poor). It is a typical corporate course lacking in many natural features. There are many courses in the area far better than this course.
Played this course about 4 times in total (always in the winter months for some reason). Very impressed with all but one of the par 3's which is the 17th. All of the par 3's are stunning (and that was in winter and cold months) I'd love to see them in the summer months but play Longhirst where I work in summer. Has a small but well stocked pro shop, the course can after heavy rain be a little bit wet underfoot but i enjoyed all the rounds I played there. Would recommend it be played especially in the summer, some beautiful views from all around the course.
Outstanding course, second best course in Northunberland, coming just behind the older course at Slaley Hall. Lots of trees and dog legs, thought required off most tees which makes a welcome change from just opening one's shoulders. Water featues on the par 3s. If you get the chance play it.
This is a new well laid out parkland course. It has a good combination of par 3's and 5's. It is a reasonable test for the better golfer but not too difficult for the rest of us. The greens are very good but slow. Recently voted one of the top ten new courses in Britain by a golf magazine. Worth playing.
