Played here last Saturday on a 2-1 voucher so the round cost £15 each which was a great price for this course. I am pleased to say the course was in good condition for this time of year, my only complaint would be the greens were a bit two paced but this is only me being picky. Some intersting holes with water, trees and dog-legs coming into play, the 14th being the best of the lot. In the clubhouse I paid £4 for four coffees so again great value. This was the first time I have played this course and I will be returning to the venue shortly for another round.
Great Course. Lovely location, with good views of the south downs. The clubhouse and staff are very welcoming. We played on the last weekend of April and were very lucky with the weather, it was a scorcher! The course was in very good condition, however, the greens had recently been Hollow Tined so were very bobbely....and i did notice that some of the bunkers are distinctly lacking in sand, but they are well positioned and do give you plenty to think about. The halfwy hut is well advertised but for some reason was closed when we arrived (3pm) which seems a bit daft on such a nice day and so many golfers on the course. The marshall came to warn us of slow play up ahead which we appreciated, he is without doubt the friendliest course marshall I have ever met! I would recommend this course to anyone, especially those who dont like to hike as the course is quite flat compared to other local courses. The food and drink in the bar is very reasonably priced and again, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be playing this course again and seriously considering holding our annual society day here.
Played on 30 May, Course in great nick (greens, sand in bunkers, cut fairways etc) has nice views, pro shop/club house nice and staff were very welcoming. Would play again. Good VFM.
This golf course has a lot going for it...from the very smart entrance and clubhouse/restaurant to the challenging course. Views will always add to the package and don't be fooled by the short holes. Straight tee shots and a good eye will help enormously. One of the best Sussex courses for sure. Jim Walters. 27/7/02
Fairly open parkland course with a fine view up to the South Downs and Ditchling Beacon. Buying a course planner (at £2.50) was money well spent by someone without any 'local knowledge'. Well (!) placed bunkers make this a challenging course. An easy walking course, greens well kept - some fiendishly contoured. Couple of short but tricky (well-guarded) par 3's. Well-appointed facilities and friendly staff and members. Most enjoyable. Pity I played like a complete div.
facilities and staff are excellent - a fine full breakfast before a round really hits the spot. Don't believe that the course is playable all year round. After rain it becomes very boggy autumn to springb and adds about 1000yrds to an already difficult course.
