One of the best courses in Edinburgh. Variety of holes all fair with some very tricky driving holes. Spectacular views on the front nine. Well worth playing regardless of handicap.
An extremely enjoyable course to play, with excellent views of Edinburgh to console you if your golf is not going well. A reasonable length but with several places that can cause problems, especially the 5th and 6th holes. The first three holes are hard work up hill and they were'nt joking when they named the third "Rest and be thankful". The back nine is distictly more relaxing than the front nine, and if there is a west wind you are sheltered by Corstorphine Hill. Excellent meals in the clubhouse and a large junior section.
A short but tricky course, with a distinctly more difficult front nine. Keeping the ball in play you can score well but there are disasters waiting to happen at the fifth and sixth in particular. Greens good in the summer but usually very poor outside the May-Sept period. There are spectacular views of Edinburgh from the 2nd and of the Pentland Hills south. Although the course is shortish, there are some decent inclines to give you some decent exercise. On the whole, an enjoyable test.
