Having read your reviews,I was rather reluctant to play this course, but most of the reviews were quite old, so I gave it a go and I am glad I did. I played it at the end of September 15 and the course was in perfect condition. From the pro shop to the club house the whole team made us feel welcome and the course was hard but fair. A real test of any golfer with any level of handicap. Some of the par 4 holes are so long, that if you manage a to par them, you should regaurd it as birdie, I did. Great course will be playing it again this summer.

This is a Great track with 18 superb holes. You have to play every club in your bag and play a variety of different shots. I'd strongly recommed playing it if you are in the area. The one thing I would say is make sure you get to play it during a dry spell as the greens really let it down at the moment and get very soft and bumpy when wet. Upgrade to USGA greens and this would be amongst the best courses in the North West!!!

This is another course I should have got around to playing long before now. A few of my golfing buddies are members here and they've been going on about how good the course is. After playing there recently I can now vouch for their views. I had an early tee time and was first out on what was a beautiful morning. The guy in the pro' shop was very welcoming and gave me some useful tips on course management. One very minor criticism would be the lack of signage from green to next tee and as most of the out 9 were on temporary greens this was a minor irritant and something which I've noticed occurs on lots of courses. Just a little sign pointing the way to the next green would be all that's needed. Anyway, the course itself although wet, and some tee mats rather than boxes was a joy to play. Every hole offers a different sort of challenge beginning with a short carry over water on the 1st. There are some long, tough par 4s on the out 9 and I found myself reaching for the big stick from most tees. There's no let up on the back 9 either and every hole requires careful club selection and course management. All of the three par 3's present a different challenge. The 9th is a long par 3 but from an elevated tee offers hope. The 11th looks much easier from the tee box but club selection particularly if the wind is up is crucial. The 18th is a carry over water to a raised green well protected by traps. For a player of my ability a 4 iron got me on the dance floor but as usual I failed to get the flat stick to work and finished with a disappointing bogey. The proper greens in use were ok - no better - but given the weather conditions we've had recently in this part of the country they played well enough ( I think the course is carrying out some improvement work to some of the greens in readiness for the start of the season proper). The fairways were in good condition and there was a 'pick-up and place' rule in force but that didn't hinder my game. Although it's quite a hilly course and requires a degree of fitness I got round in two and a half hours but I was playing on my own and there was no-one in front of me to hold things up. The course does have 'time par' markers at one or two holes reminding you how long your round should have taken to this point which I think is a useful hint to some of the slower players we've all suffered playing behind. All things considered, including a very reasonable green fee of £17, a great day's golf and now I'm familiar with the course I look forward to taking on my mates there this summer. Solid, traditional clubhouse which I didn't use as 10:30 am is a bit early for the first one of the day, even for me. If you get the chance play here - you won't be disappointed.

Played North Manchester during their Open Week! Cracking test of golf with varied shot making skills required for golfers of all abilities. Course was in great nick with fast tricky greens. Warm welcome in the club house and good food to accompany. Well worth playing if you are in the area.

Wonderful course and a real testing golf course especially on the greens which were immaculate (but very quick) Anybody who wants to play to their handicap needs to bring ther 'A' game, I didn't but would encourage anyone to visit this splendid course. To add to the appeal both staff & members were very friendly.

Played this course this afternoon and found it absolutely fantastic. Parts of the course were genuinely breathtaking. Tees, Fairways and Greens were spot on. 18th simply superb. My only regret is that it has taken me 31 years to stumble upon the best course (in my opinion) in Manchester. Got a deal on a 2-4-1 - £15 each. Only regret is that I did not have time to visit the clubhouse so cannot comment on that. This course reminded me of why I play golf.

Absolute class. If you are in the region do not give this one a miss. Your game will have to be in top shape if you want to play to your handicap. Tee,s, fairways and greens were excellent. The holes are superb in layout and some of the driving off elevated tees' is great. The 18th is a spectacular par 3 over a lake (card wreaker), members say it is in Peter Aliss's best 18 holes of UK golf. Pro very friendly. Clubhouse food good and cheap. Will definately play it again when in the area.

i found this course one of the most scenic in the north west. the greens were of exceptional quality the fairways well manicured. Interesting holes everyone! Especially the par 3 18th over the lake which has ruined many a scorecard i suspect. Although not an easy course, it is fair. Well recommended.
