Played it today - first time in 30 years since playing it as a junior. Tight front 9 demands accurate tee shots that rewards the straight hitter. If your course management is sound you'll have lots of 150 yard approach shots into generous greens with A1 putting surfaces. Second nine opens up a bit so you can get the driver out. The 13,14,15 layout is a bit dangerous with balls flying in all directions as the holes cross. 18 is a great closing hole and a tough par 3 to finish.
we played this course in the summer and the greens were fantastic, really true and fast .The course is short but tight especially the front nine where your long clubs should stay in the bag, back nine opens up a bit but the course is quite dangerous as 13 14 15 all the fairways cross over each other so you might need a hardhat. The second tolast par three looks like it was stuck there as they could not find any more room, these few spoil a really pleasant course for me with the last hole a relatively boring par three
This golf club is a must for any society. As part of a group of 20, I think it is fair to say that all golfers of varying handicaps between 10 and 28 thoroughly enjoyed all the facilities the club provided. The course is relatively short (5750 yds) but each hole provides a different challenge. Every aspect of the course was in perfect condition with the greens especially quick and true. There are many interesting holes including the 9th (S.I. 1) and the 18th (an uphill par 3). The food was excellent and the staff down to earth, jovial and could not do enough for us. I recommend this course in its present condition is well worth a visit. Thanks for a great day.
I played here on a society day on 26.5.08. I would recommend this course to anyone. Its not over long with several par 4's below 350 yards but you need to think a bit on most holes. The welcome was great (even for a small society of 8)and the food brilliant. The greens and fairways are in excellent condition.
played the course on 06/06/08,and it was one of the best we have played, the fairways, greens and teeing off area just suberb.afterwards in the clubhouse we were really looked after by the friendly bar staff[ale was good & cheap]and the three course meal was excellant overall a great day out.
Played for first time 30/8/06, the course was in first class condition and challenging with a variety of holes. Club house staff were very welcoming and the food was very tasty. I would recommend this course for a good day out.
i am a junior member at this course, it is a very nice course and since joining in november i have become a better player, and enjoying golf aswell! i encourage anyone to join as they will really like the club.
Played here for first time on Society package 15/6/06. What a superb course! Tees, Fairways and Greens all in excellent condition. Not just my views but those expressed by all members who played. Some outstanding holes. Well thought out and laid out a very scenic and challenging course. The club catering staff were brilliant, changing our evening meal in the dining area to a basket meal in the bar, so we could watch England v Trinidad/Tobago World Cup qualifier! Members friendly and chatty. Staff brilliant! Great value for money. On the rota for a return in 2007. Peter Saunders-Lee Sec P.I.G.S.
i am a junior member here Padeswood has made me alot better player the course is in good condition and is very good for juniors who want to join a golf course. The junior organiser is good with the juniorsand does look after us.
After I played the course for the first time, I went immediately off the 18th to see the secretary for an application form. The course is in outstanding condition all year round. Course is set up very fairly. The front nine requires straight tee shots, and if you miss the fairway you will have to maked do with bogey. The back nine is wider and lets you open your arms. The 18th is one of the hardest finishing holes you can play. A 180 yrd par three, uphill from an elevated tee. Anything right is lost and left is out of bounds. Hope you have a great day when you visit!
The course has some lovely views and has been in pristine condition all season, the greens especially good. I have also been part of 2 society visits to the course this year. Of the 60 or so visitors over these 2 visits I did not hear a bad word about the course (or indeed the society package - which is as good as anywhere I have been). The course is not particularly long, but it will require some good course management in order to score well. The rough is not especially long, but one visit to it is all you'll need to try to keep your shots on the fairway in future! There has been extensive work carried out over the last 12 months to resolve an issue with drainage in the far corner of the course. Three holes have been altered, in my own opinion for the better, as a result of this. Probably the best way of recommending the course to anyone thinking of paying a visit is to say that I liked it enough to join.
