Pontypool Golf Club

We played the course on a good deal in early November. We received a warm welcome from the pro and the small number of members on the course were sociable. I had played the course some years earlier but it was a first visit for my partner. Both of us were delighted with the condition of the course; after such a wet summer and autumn, it was effectively dry underfoot, the undulating terrain of this long-established (1903) course providing excellent drainage. Buggies were well in evidence, though we (both seniors) had no difficulty walking the course with trollies. In all, a course well worth the journey which we will visit again soon.

I recently visited Monmouthshire and played 5 courses in 8 days. Pontypool G.C is a well maintained mountain course with wonderful views over the Bristol Channel and local hills. The first hole is a challenging par 5 and there is a mix of well designed holes on this most enjoyable of courses. We were greeted by staff and had a great value for money lunch. I will definately play this course again.
