As the secretary of a long established golf society I feel in a position to say how well we were treated by everyone at Potters Bar Golf Club, the food was great, the course was well maintained and the admin could not have gone smoother. I had a chat with the club pro who told me that their a was to make the club/course a great one for societies and golfers of all standards. Believe me they are mocking in the right direction. The feedback from the 20 golfers who went was very positive and the day a huge success. Thank you to all those associated with club
Having recently held a society day at Potters Bar Golf , I was delighted by their hospitality and the standard of the course.I was impressed by the way the course had been set up considering we had a varied standard of golfer attending the day out.The course was a test for the better golfer whilst not being to difficult for the beginner. All in all a great venue which I intend to play again.
16 of our society members played the Potters Bar course in June 2013. We found the course to be in very good condition and compared well with the other high quality courses we play each year. We would also like to thank the catering staff for providing an excellent meal. Our members have already voted to keep this fixture on the calender for next year. Jeff Wood. Average parkland course with a couple of holes running by the railway line and a couple of holes with ditch / pond lay-ups. You need to plot your way round, I think this is a course where you would score better after you have played it a couple of times. It is an OK course, when I played it one evening it was very quiet so you won't get held up. It is in decent condition, so on balance I would give it a go, but don't get too excited.
Nice enough course, tight in places, with a few quirky lay-ups - you would score better if you played it a few times. Greens fine, with a few nice holes OK, but would not want to play it week in week out.
Played course in June & course was in lovely condition,it is a short course with tight fairways & fast greens.Strange set up with only three par 3's & two of those are together.Only thing that let the course down was the attitude of the Potters Bar Members you could tell from the moment we turned up they did not like societies & we were not made welcome at all.Shame as there attitude is the only thing that would stop me going back.Must say that the staff in the pro shop were excellent & done a great job with prizes for the day.
Played here on a weekday afternoon ( £20 after 1 p.m ).Usually £26 but the friendly pro let us go for the above price due to the lateish start. Nothing to get too excited about here on this undulating parkland course. The course doesn't seem to drain very well .The rough was muddy & wormcasty & the fairways had problem areas too. There were a fair number of G.U.R areas dotted around . Slightly unusual hole layout in that there are only 3 par 3s & the first one isn't until the 8th & the last one is the 12th . The better ,more attractive holes are on the back 9 & the last 6 holes make for a demanding finish. The greens putted well & it seemed like quite a friendly, welcoming club. Kevin B.
