Played St Cuthbert's a few weeks ago and must say was very impressed. The course itself is a challenge for all but the straightest of hitters. Fairways, greens and bunkers were all in pristine condition and made for a very enjoyable and entertaining round.

Prestwick St cuthbert is an inland course which is situated on flat ground, most of which was farmland at one time or another. The course itself is a resonable layout with a few challenging holes, especially the 4th, which is a 430yd dogleg that plays into the prevailing wind. The fairways are quite generous and almost all are tree-lined, the rough is not particularly punishing and the greens are well protected with bunkers. Occasionally the quality of the greens could be dubious but they are normally quite smooth and true to putt on. St Cuthbert is a good choice for an outing especially if not everyone in the group is Tiger Woods, the flat nature of the course means that it is never a slog and there is not many holes where losing a ball will be a problem. The best hole on the course is without doubt the 15th: 400yds off the back tee and quite a sharp dogleg left with a well positioned fairway bunker on the corner of the dogleg into a green protected by bunkers and trees. The food in the clubhouse is good and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is always hospitable.
