Quinta do Vale Golf Resort
Quinta do Vale Golf Resort, Castro Marim, Portugal
1 review of Quinta do Vale Golf Resort
As a group of 12 played this as part of a tour of the area [Stayed in Tavira and played Benamor, Castro Marim, Quinta da Ria + 2 more courses in Spain] A "Seve" signature course with a most impressive clubhouse from where you overlook 15 of the holes layed out before you. As you would expect of the area there is a lot of water to contend with but it's less scary once you actually start playing the course. The course consits of 6 x par 3's 6 x par 4's and 6 x par 5's which, whilst it seems a bit contrived, works well as a course. Without going through it hole by hole the first is a par 5 of approx 450 metres of the yellows - Get a good drive away, then a medium to long iron over water to the next bit of greenery and then a short iron, over more water, into a green which runs across from left to right and that's stroke index 11 for you! I am prepared to accept that all course opinions are subjective and whilst all 12 of us thought that this was one of the best of it's type it obviously will not suit everyone. However, I must mention the level of service we received - 1st class on every level - Met on arrival by member of staff who asked if he could come back to us at the end of our round to solicit our views. Buggies were 32 euros and came with iced water and one free course planner between 2 - Not only that but, if you spent over 50 euros in the pro shop, you got the price of the buggy back ! Snacks and drinks were not at all overpriced and service was quick. I wouldn't hesitate to reccommend this to anybody.
